Trying to decide about "one-size"

I'm working on getting my diapers picked out for my new baby coming in August. I want to have a small amount of one-size fitted diapers on hand. I thought I had made my decision and then found a local store. I'd love to buy from and support the local store, but I'm not sure if I want those one-size diapers instead of what I had picked out. So, I'm here for advice. LOL

I had picked out two kinds I was going to order. I like the sound of both of them so I was going to get three of each. The first is from Tiny Tush . I like that it comes with a snap in liner. Also they say that with the liner it absorbs 16 oz. I'm not sure how important that is since I'm planning on doing EC part time. I plan on changing him as soon as he wets most of the time also.

The other is from Green Mountain Diaper. The Snug-to-Fit Supreme They talk about it being the trimmest fitted. Also that it is easy to get clean and dries fast. This one is sold as fitting 8-35 lbs

The local store carries a few kinds, but the one I'm considering is the MotherEase One Size Snap. This one is supposed to absorb 13 oz. and I have seen it mentioned many times how durable it is. I know part of that is that it is not 100% cotton like the other two say they are. This one is sold as saying it fits 7-35 lbs.

I'm leaning toward getting the first two, but I was really wanting to support the local store. I am planning on buying my covers and a few other things from there and have also registered there for for my baby shower.

Thoughts??

I really really really love one-size snappi'able fitteds. Instead of snaps or velco, you use a Snappi (or pins) and you get the perfect fit *every time*. I think the 3 main ones are Bagshot Row Bamboo (BSRB), SP NRSS (no idea wth that stands for, lol) and Scuttlebutts.

We used motherease one size on my older son for awhile. While they were pretty absorbent, they had horrible wing droop, which is my Number One Pet Peeve about a diaper so they had to go!

Just to add another to the mix, I love SugarPeas 2-size diapers. They get a better fit than one-size for us and are very absorbant.

Of the ones you mentioned, the only one I have experience with is the TinyTush. I really like it for my son and find it very absorbant - though I do imagine it would be bulky on a nb (I got it when my ds was older).

That said, I have started making the one-size snappiable fitteds for my new baby coming in Aug, but they also fit my ds now, with a doubler and I do really like that style.

I like OS fitteds a lot--I have some Motherease OS and Tiny Tush OS fitteds.

All of these are going to be really bulky on a newborn. We didn't use OS until DD was closer to 10 lbs.

My DD is now 6.5 months and about 16 lbs. We use the Tiny Tush fitteds without the snap-in doubler still and they are still pretty absorbant. I'm happy with them. My DD is on the second-largest rise setting already (but she's unusually long-torsoed). There's still room to grow, but not as much as some of my other one size diapers.

I do use a doubler with the Motherease because they're not quite so absorbant. They do seem like they're going to last through more babies than the Tiny Tush because they don't have elastic to get loose, just soft leg binding. They seem like they will fit a good-sized baby for a long time, too.

All I have is OS's!
Tie naps are all I used the first 6 monthes or so, I also have 24 Susies Ones Sizes's LOVE LOVE them, Goodmamas are way over rated to me, piddle poodles are just like them but seem to not get as sherpay as fast.
AS far as pockets, BG now that they have snaps are great but rumparooz are MINKY and have the strechy tabs I LOVE.
Motherease were my first OS and I thought I loved them, until SOS's and tie naps. Seriously LOVE tienaps, they can be as trim as you want, lined with what you want, totalllllly one size and super super super cute, as well as cheap cheap cheap! I still use them all the time as well, and he is 13 monthes.

Thank you all for your responses!

I think I'll give a bit more info just to see if it makes a difference.
My kids have so far all been 8 lbs 3 oz to 8 lbs 6 oz. They have also grown fast. (#3 was over her birth weight by one week old)
I am planning on mostly using prefolds and also doing at least part time EC. I want some fitteds for days (or nights) that I don't feel like messing with a prefold, outings, or incase someone else is changing a diaper and is overwhelmed by a prefold.
So far I have 36 infant prefolds, 2 newborn covers and 3 small. I'll be buying more covers.
I have a few sized fitteds I'm looking at, but I want to buy a small amount of one-size ones also (probably 6).

The MotherEase ones are so tempting with the durability and the Tiny Tush with the absorbency (and colors! LOL) . The info on Green Mountain Diapers makes the Snug-to-Fit sound great too. (trim, easy to wash in HE front-loader, quick to dry)

I had planned on 3 of the Tiny Tush and 3 of the Snug-to-Fit. Would it be ridiculous to just get 2 of each of the three kids instead? Is there any good reason to not get one of the kinds I'm looking at? (keeping in mind that they won't be my main diapers?)

ETA: Also, where in the world do you find the tie naps? I've searched and came up empty.

I think 2 of each is fine. You'll be able to get an idea of what you like.

They carry the disana tie nappy here: http://www.tinybirdsorganicbabytoys....Diapers-3-pack

Good luck!

I have a Tiny Tush OS Fitted Elite with the snap in liner. I love this diaper! It snaps down really small for a nb. I use it now with my 11 month old for a nighttime dipe with the liner. It's pretty dag gone great!

I also like Bella Bottoms terry cloth OS fitteds. They are a WAHM. www.bellabottoms.com

The only thing I would add is this- I haven't tried the Motherease OS- but the ME that I do have has a very wide crotch which really bothers my son. He is older so this may not be an issue until the walking stage, but he really can't stand any diaper that doesn't have a fairly narrow crotch.

Hmmm, that is a good point.

Talking it over with DH (so sweet to listen to me ramble on LOL) I decided to go with the Tiny Tush and Snug-to-Fit like I had first planned. I think I may get one or two of the MotherEase to try later on.
Thanks so much for the input!

Just wanted to add that I LOVE my Tiny Tush OS fitteds. They are my bullet-proof night time diapers and are a great value for your money.

Also, it's really hard to say what diaper YOU are going to love until you try them. I'd buy one of each and then make your decision after a few weeks. Some diapers are just to expensive to buy a stash of before you try them on your LO.

Congrats on the new baby, btw!

My favorite one size fitteds are Goodmama diapers, for sure. I've tried other brands, but those ones are the best imo. Sugar Peas makes a good 2 size fitted as well. I'm dying to try Bum Genius, which I plan to buy for this baby.
