Question about baby worn on your back

O.K. this might be a dumb question but I have been trying to figure this out. I like wearing my DD: but I will only wear her on my back at home because Im not sure where to place the straps that come across your front. If I put the above my bust they ride up and strangle me and if I wear them below my bust they make my breast look huge! I already am too busty which is probably why Im a little selfconscious of this. So how do all you other mamas were your strap? Thanks!

We had the Tough Traveler backpack. I found that it was so well balanced that I just never needed the chest straps. I just let them dangle.

Hmm, well I'm not really that well endowed but I noticed this too. Usually wearing my carrier rucksack style (where they don't cross, just go down and around) works. I have a MT.

My MTs have long straps, so when I do a back carry, I bring the top straps over my shoulders and then under my arms (without crossing)--like a backpack. Then I cross them under DDs bum and pull them under her legs.

Then I bring the straps back around front and do one of two things:
-Either tie the straps around my waist (where the bottom straps are already tied) -- like champaineBlossom suggested!
-Or bring the straps back up to my shoulders (about armpit level) and tuck them under the straps that are already there. Then I bring them up above my breasts and tie a knot. I like this way best because it keeps baby high on my back and helps to better distribute the weight--plus, since the straps are fed under the shoulder part of the straps, it doesn't strangle me. Sometimes I will tie the knot slightly to the right or left to throw the dangling straps over my shoulder so they don't get in the way of my chores.

My husband teases me about how the straps, erm, ah,... "frame" the girls.

I do rucksack style too where the straps are worn like a backpack and do not cross the chest area at all.
