clothes for cloth diapered kiddos?

My son is 2 months old and very long. His length plus his cloth diaper are making it difficult for clothes to fit him. Onsies that fit him on the top pull too much around the diaper. Hehas been in 3-6 month old clothes and some 6-9 month old clothes and there is still some trouble with the fit. Is there a brand that fits better than others? Do you sew your own?

I usually stick to t-shirts and over alls It does get better once they are a bit bigger!

If you want to stick with onesies, they do make extenders for them that will make it to where you can buy the correct size and just use the extender to make it correct on the bottom as well

I am a big fan of the pants the have the adjustable waists... I know Gap makes them and so do a couple other brands. I also love Old Navy in general, their pants have always fit DS really well. If we aren't leaving the house DS spends most of his time in just a shirt and a diaper!!

Hanna Andersson is wonderful. Also try Gymboree; moms on a Gymbo board who also CD say they have no problems.

We had/have the same problem. My son is 24 inches long, and has a bulky CD bum. I bought some onesie extenders that have helped. Also, I find that the more "natural" companies make baby clothes with roomier butts for CDs. We like Under the Nile and Speesees so far. I have also just sized up...he's using some 6mo sized pants with just a little baggy waist. But check out the onesie extenders...he's able to wear some 0-3 mo onesies still, and we're getting good use out of stuff that would otherwise have to be packed away.
HTH!

I always sized up to fit the diapers, and didn't worry about things being too baggy around the shoulders.

Just wanted to encourage you that the bulkiness does get MUCH better when they are older.

I'd just get some babylegs and regular tshirts - no problem with fit with those!

For going out - overalls are a great suggestion!

I would also second the onesie extenders. DD is 16 months and wears 18-24 month onesies with an extender. Those things are amazing! As for pants, we have a lot of elastic waists. Most of the really cute girls pants for toddlers are really skinny to go over those thin disposables, so we miss out on the adorable cords and jeans. But for practicality, stretchy pants, overalls, and in the summer, one piece rompers work well.

I have never really been able to do onsies. You can cut off the bottom of the onsie to make it into a lap tee. The knit material won't unravel. Also Zutano is another good clothing brand that fits well with cloth diapers.

BabyLegs + a Tee shirt with a cute diaper in between is ADORABLE

I am loving American Apparel stuff, especially the karate pants. They run a little small, so I size up.

Amazon has them

Gymboree and gap are what we stick with. The cheaper brands like children's place and old navy are cut trimmer, which means the pants aren't going to fit so well over a cloth butt.

the overalls that we have gotten as hand me downs don't button all the way, just like the onsies. They are even 3 sizes too big. We have been fortunate to get a ton of hand me downs, but due to my son's size and the diaper we aren't getting much use out of them. I just thought if I knew of a brand that was sized bigger I could look for it at the thrift store.

thanks for the suggestions.
