embroider (sp)?

I want to start making things to sell on the net and want to be able to offer embroidery. I have NO $$ to take classes and don't know anyone in my area to ask. Is there an online tutorial that you know that is very user friendly to someone who is new at sweing?

Thanks!

well, i learned to embroider from my grandma when i was, like, 10. then i totally forgot how and when i was 20 i wanted to learn again but had no one to teach me, so i went out and found some old books from the 60's and they were great. most of the old sewing books have lots of great stiches in htem and cool retro ideas on how to use them. I would try thrift shops that have a book section.

i hope that helps

Ha, HA! I never really learned but I've... how do you say... procrastinated on it. I too don't have no money so I spend a lot of time on the internet finding free patterns, crafts, and I look up books on the library internet. One time I remember finding several books on how to do embroidery and some books were very descriptive on how to do it with pictures. I also thought that one of these days I was going to visit a retirement home or post a flyer on those senior citizen apartment: asking for a friend to help me learn how to: in your case embroidery but I also want to learn how to hand sew. I know how on the sewing machine, just not hand. Just a thought1 Let me now how your project goes! Kathryn

there is an Austrailian embrodery magazine and company that puts out a great magazine and some excellent reference books. the most inspiring and beautiful magazine I have seen so far.

they walk you through their projects very well.

or do a google search for "country bumpkin + embroidery"

I highly recommend this company and its books and magazines
