toddlerwearing while pregnant?

I pretty much stopped wearing my DD (25 months now) when I got pregnant (now I'm 19 weeks) but she has so many fears right now, and such a huge need to be physically close that I think I should try it again. Any suggestions for dealing with my big belly and protecting my back? I have mostly used the ergo since she was about 4 months, but I also have slings, a stretchy wrap, and a mei tei. Thanks!

I wore my Beco Butterfly on my back while pregnant or my Scootababy on my hip with my toddler's leg over the belly I definitely would NOT use the stretchy wrap with a baby bigger than 18-20 pounds, and your ring sling could be a hip carrier, but I'm worried about your back... Do you know how to use your MT on your hip???

I like my MT with a back carry for my DS, who just turned one. I tie the bottom straps above my belly. I don't have back issues, so I don't know if this would work for you, but it has worked for us throughout this pregnancy.

I wore my toddler in a wrap on my back.

Here I am the day before delivering (37ish weeks):

I loved wearing my daughter in soft structured carriers (like Ergo, Beco, Olives & Applesauce) on my back while pregnant with my son. The wide, padded waist belt (which I wore below my belly) felt like a support belt to my sore lower back and the weight felt very balanced with her in the back and the baby belly in the front. We were comfortable that way until the very end. It was great because I didn't always have the energy to chase after an active toddler while heavily pregnant.

I still wear my 18month old for hours at a time (27weeks pregnant now), multiple times a week! We use a woven wrap and I have had no pain or had no stress points. Granted I get out of breath quicker - but thats expected in pregnanct anyways...lol

I wore my toddler on my back or hips through my pregnancy. I tied above the waist though when wearing him on my back. I actually really liked doing back carries when pregnant. It balanced me out.

Another option would be an onbuhimo. It has rings and only two straps, so it can easily be tied above the big belly.

I'm mad for this double hammock carry with a woven wrap as most of the weight is wrapped evenly around your upper torso and you can tie it off over your belly. I'm about 23 weeks, I think, and I'm still carrying my 20-lb 15-month old DD on my back quite a bit. I can't deal with anything hitting me on or under the belly when I'm pg!

I wore my 35+ pound 2yo on my back in the Beco with the waist strap above my belly and it was COMFY!

Anyone try a torso carry with a stiff wrap while prego?

Boy I wish I had pics, but I carried DD (who was 2 1/2 at the time) in a Kozy until I was 37wks. It was the only way I could get out shopping with them all. I probably could have done it longer, but never went out with them alone after about that time.
