what makes cp experience easier for some?

for instance, many believe that vitamin A helps a lot with measles....

is there anything like that for cp?

Breastfeeding? My DD (2 1/2 at the time) nursed almost constantly through CP and only had a fever of 101 for 12 hours. The rest of the time she acted totally fine, except with the extra nursing. She had a pretty good case too - over 300 pox.

wow, 300! i guess i dont even know what is a bad case or not because i dont really remember my experience too well...i wonder if age or overall health has something to do with it. everyone says it's worse when you're older....

vit C is good

It oddly always seems as if the first person to get it gets it the lightest and then the follow up kids get it the worst. I have no clue why as technically, every kid is a followup kid. But, within families, it has always seemed to work that way.

I've wondered if it's worse as adults partly because we have such resistance to changing our daily routine, slowing down, and taking care of ourselves as adults. And we're responsible for making our own food and taking care of the basics as adults--kids are taken care of (as they should be, of course).

Vitamin C has helped with almost all of my kids' illnesses (not sure if ever helped with diarrheal illnesses), and I think A helps with rash illnesses in general, though I agree it's more with measles.

I'd think general stuff too--vitamin D status (overall immune function), a diet that's meeting their needs, low stress in general.

We haven't had CP yet, I sorta hope we can wait a couple years, I'm working on health stuff for my kids (and myself) and I don't feel ready yet. But those are part of what I'm envisioning.
