computer work comfort

I am working towards some sort of computer work. I have begun trying to increase my WPM. In doing this I have realized how uncomfortable working at the computer is. I know that I need to get a more comfortable chair. My wrists stick to the desk as I type and my speed goes down. What accessories do you have for your office space that were a good investment?
