Birth pool question...

With DS I planned to labour in the water (I birthed at my midwife's center and she has a nice tub) but when I started pushing I immediately went to the tub; I just KNEW I had to birth in it. So for this babe I want to have a pool available just in case my instincts tell me to birth in the water again. The problem is I wanted to birth on all fours but my midwife was concerned about the baby's head coming out of the water some, because as it's a tub it only can be filled so high. This meant birthing on my side and they had to hold my leg up in between contractions (I was exhausted and asked them to when I closed them after one and felt him moving back!). I'd like to have a hb (and if I end up birthing in the center, obviously I'm just going to deal with her tub)...if I do have a hb and get a pool, will the pools be tall enough for me to birth on all fours if I feel I need to? This applies to a kiddie pool, waterbirth-specific pool, whatever. I've got plenty of time to go, just curious.

I used a BPIAB mini and it was plenty deep. I delivered kneeling with my hands up on the side of the pool. They actually had to drain water after he was born so I could sit down and keep his head out of the water- it was that deep.

"Birth Pool In a Box" (available here, for example).

I'm opting for a kiddie pool instead to save money, but this looks very nice (and I think there are rental options for it as well, I just didn't research them very fully).

I used the fishy pool and birthed on my hands and knees. Was plenty deep.

I also birthed on my knees leaning against the side of the pool - it was a kiddie pool that was at least 2' deep....my whole belly was submerged and water was up to my lower back for sure.
