NAK for the first time ever! My beautiful little girl was born at home on March 30 at 3:35 AM at 40 weeks 6 days. We were joking about how she barely missed being born at 3:30 on 3/30. I noticed my mucus plug starting to come at 3AM the night before, and contractions started around 6:15. She hadn't dropped yet, I hadn't dilated or effaced at all, and she was still posterior, but all in a day, that all got taken care of, and she was born with her hand up in a fist in her eye socket and all! It was the most intense day of my life, and I couldn't have done it without my husband and a nice pool to float in during the hardest parts.
She is so beautiful at 7 lbs. 14.5 oz, 21 1/4 inches long and a 14 cm around head full of gorgeous hair! She decided that nursing is the best thing in the world and has been mostly happy and sleepy. I'm feeling relatively well considering and really enjoying my daughter.
My mom came in time for the birth and talked to my DH's mom on the phone to update her on my progress during labor. She made a birthday dinner and cake for us last night, and we put a "0" candle in the cake and sang "Happy Birthday" to our little girl to celebrate her original birthday.
