32. Servants of the Map-Andrea Barrett

Collection of stories. Interesting, solid writing. Good enough to pass the time Kind of like the word "pleasant" or "lukewarm." LOL Not mind-blowing but not terrible.

Love Walked In by Marisa de los Santos

90 pages in i almost set it down, because something about the chatty style of the narrator irritated me. (i think, actually, she reminded me of myself in some way. but i was curious to see the outcome of the story, and there were enough good lines that i continued. it got better.

This book is really helping me right now. It is all stuff I've heard before but sometimes we need to hear/read something One More Time for it to "click."

Finished this one last night before midnight ...

Unveiled: How an American Woman Found Her Way Through Politics, Love, and Obedience in the Middle East by Deborah Kanafani

I found the book to be part insight into the lives of women in the Middle East and part gossip tale. Kanafani seems impressed with the people she has meet and the opportunities she was given by marrying a high-ranking Palestenian government official. Its this aspect that takes away from the central theme -- the rights of women in the Middle East.
