It's effing with my brain and my body.

I swear they got all my brain cells and then what did dd3 say to me as I was nursing Linus to sleep this afternoon?

"Momma, you going to be too mad to deal with me so I'm going outside. 'Kay?"

I have yet to figure out what she did.

LOL mommajb, you make me feel better, you really do. I was fine after dd was born but since ds I have been downright airheaded most of the time. It even affects my speech - I'll be searching for the right word and just can't come up with it. I've told DH he's getting a preview of what old age will be like with me.

Wonder what your dd3 did?

Runningmommy, hope your spots are okay. I'm getting two on my back taken off on the 13th. Finally, they've been itching for awhile and one is worrisome.

rr: 2.7 miles today, mostly 2min run/2 min walk but I did do 6 min of running at the beginning. Knee is still a bit bothersome. I don't think it's my ITB anymore though because that spot is never sore to roll out anymore ... Hmmmm

My new doctor is a triathlete! I'm planning on doing at least 1 sprint tri this summer so we talked about training for awhile, it was great :

That's a little rash, Nick.

Serial posting to say I am not even supposed to be here right now. I should be in the barn. For criminy...at this rate, we'll be eating dinner around 9PM. Got home late from work, and now I'm just making it worse.

But mamas, I just need a break, so you're giving me one.

I am incredibly bloated (PMS again? already? really!?!) and tired. Just want to go to sleep. But I can't because there is no one else here to feed the kids and the animals. And the kids need showers tonight. And my day at work was stressful for reasons beyond the usual.

OK, thanks. Bye.

Ha, ST, you could have totally called me. And yes, myofacial release is the concept that if you have something wrong with your foot, it could totally lead to a neck pain. There are anatomy trains (which I have not studied) that describe the route, so to speak. I only ever had it done to me in school and I didn't think that it hurt particularly, but of course I wasn't getting anything treated. You apply pressure (and no lube) with a forearm, for example, and VERY SLOWLY move over the area of the body you are working. You do not glide over the skin, but wait for the fascia to "melt."

Ok, enough of that. We took the kids to their swim lessons this afternoon, and even though I didn't do laps, I did stuff in the water, and I am wiped out. Just had a cup of tea to perk up to be able to go to my knitting group tonight. I did also run this morning. That would be 3x since Sunday! My eating to live is going well, and I am down 4-5 lbs in 2 weeks. Now I am really trying to create and keep some momentum going with my running. This morning I felt like I "had" to run, even though my schedule was a bit tight. I take that as a good sign.

Isn't the big deal with the foam roller that it does myofascial release too? It hurts that much anyway!

RR: Ran 3 on the TM before I got banned for try to ban HBM so she wouldn't feel left out!
Now I'm off to TKD with rubbery legs, oy. I don't know why they feel rubbery, maybe all that Wii snowboarding.

Nick - Marathons have been entered for lesser reasons haven't they?

: That's the nicest thing anyone's done for me in a long time. *sniff, sniff*

Nic-I totally laughed out loud at "blob of blub", which you're not, by the way. Do the race!

I'm down about 5-7 pounds (depending on time of day, water weight, whether I've pooped or not, if a child is standing on the scale with me, glasses vs. contacts, etc, etc.) and I think giving up sugar has a lot to do with that. I've pretty much stopped having sugar cravings, but I crave milk a lot. Could I be craving lactose?

I've done 2 on the TM every day this week so far! Yay me!

I'm still having sore ankle issues...anyone have any suggestions? It's my left ankle...and the soreness/tenderness comes from the side of my ankle near where that bump sticks out on everyone's ankle. It's super painful for the first few strides and then dies down so that I hardly feel it at all. When I stop, it feels really tender...but not even super painful or anything. Also, if I walk a lot during the day, it strikes back at me. I haven't noticed any swelling or bruising. I don't want to stop running, but I was thinking that maybe I should do some cross training instead for a few days?

Sounds like I'm not the only one who lost brain cells somewhere along the route of having kids/nursing.

mommajb - did you ever figure out what dd3 did?

I did about 5 miles worth of errands on the bike today, and my quads are feeling it! The hardest was carrying a 45 lb. DD and what felt like 100 lbs. of groceries uphill from the store. Why did they have to have 5 lb. bags of flour on sale? I'm supposed to do 10 tomorrow and I'm a little worried that my quads won't let me.

Awww, I missed all the April Fool's MDC banning hijinks this year!

Myofacial release - I have a friend that did this for me when I was largely pregnant with Abby and my back was killing me. It was divine, and my back never felt so good!

I am feeling better, and managed to get a good 45 minute tempo run in! But, poor Katie has fallen to the dreaded illness. She had a good fever today, spiking to over 102 this evening. Poor thing. I hope it passes quickly, because she has two birthday parties this weekend! This spring break has just sucked!

I should be running right now. Um, and I'm clearly not. I overslept and mmy stomach is upset so here I sit. The coffe is already brewing and it smells divine but I can;t do that to mmy body. I hope I can drag the girls out on bikes later so I can run. It will take forever with the stroller and girls.

Charlotte had a toothpaste issue. We are now out of silly strawberry. She had tried to clean it up and hide the evidence. I hate it when they do that as its always worse for me in the long run.

I'll be back if, no, make that after I get things including a run take care of.

Packing running clothes along today. Instead of running this AM, I am starting seeds, sneaking some big eggs under the broody emu (gulp!), getting kids into the shower, and maybe getting to work a little early. Doesn't hurt to try, anyway. If it's not actually raining when I get done with work, I'll see if I have the energy to do a couple miles in the afternoon.

I registered for Marine Corps. Yay for me! :

It's the kick in the pants I need. A goal. Aside from giving birth to my kids, finishing my marathon was the most emotionally and physically euphoric experience of my life. I wouldn't mind that feeling of accomplishment again.

Plus the 20 lbs. I lost (and could use to lose now) didn't hurt! My first marathon was on my 1-year wedding anniversary, in May 1997 (vermont city -- beautiful!). This one will be (with G-d's help) 12 years, 3 kids -- 4 pregnancies and 10 years of nursing -- later.

I am PMSing which is why I think I feel like a blubby blob. Also I did a new fitness dvd earlier in the week (The Biggest Loser Boot Camp) which set me squarely on my rear and made me so sore I haven't run in 5 days. And I had parent-teacher conferences for 5 hours straight Tuesday, after 6 hrs of teaching. And I've been up 3 nights straight with coughing and/or vomiting children. Good times!

Have a good day everyone. Rainy and raw here today, ready for spring! Pesach cleaning almost done...now to keep the playdough only on the kitchen table (it migrates on the bottom of socks...anyone ever notice that?)

Me too! I think people think I am an extrovert because I talk A LOT, but I desperately need alone time. My sister (who is expecting her first baby in August) once said to me "you are never alone" I replied ~ "nope, never" it is so true.

I feel like my brain never worked I : dd3's quote.

Slept in this morning so didn't get my run in: Gonna try and get it in tonight, but I am bad about getting out after a day at work and an evening chasing children.
