YOu can also close up the larger forums on the main page so you can't see them. If you go to the end of the shaded bar on "Parenting" or "Family LIfe" there is an arrow, and if you click that then all the subforums will be invisible. Until you click again to see them again.
So there's no way to do a "new posts" search and exclude posts from one forum, such as the vegetarian forum if you're an avid meat-eater, or SAHP if you're a working parent or Working Parents if you're a SAHP, or whatever other forum(s) don't apply to your situation?
If you subcribe to the forums you want to see, and just go to your user control panel when you come to mdc--- that might work for you?
