My husband and I now have a daughter, a little person who has our hearts completely!
Just a few details of labor:
-Waters broke, clear fluid with mucous and bloody show, at 5:30am 3/29
-Early labor on the trails of a lovely town park, just DH and me (and tons of families with children and dogs
)
-Much of active labor in a hotel across from the hospital
-Doula joined us when I asked her to come at 9pm (I was in phone contact with her all day)
-Checked into hospital at 11pm 3/29, contractions 2 mins apart and dilated 7 cm
-Baby born at 1:58am 3/30
Although this was a hospital birth, I accomplished an unmedicated, minimally interventive, vaginal birth with a wonderful midwife and doula. I was active throughout labor, and delivered in a squat. The birth experience was everything we planned and hoped for! It was definitely worth it for us to travel a couple hours for this experience.
Hugs to all who have had their little ones while I was away, and best wishes for those who are waiting...your turn is coming, and it's worth the wait!
