Hi, I used to visit mothering, but have been absent for a while. (Long explanation)

I love the threads about art and books, gardening and education.

We have three children, two dogs, guineapigs, hamster and mice... we're thinking of chickens.....but guess who gets to "deal" with them.

Well- that was my main worry about hens actually- the dogs. One's a terier, and although he's fairly good with the guineapigs, he hgas killed a pheasant ( larger than him) which wasn't pleasant. In fact he HALF killed it, and I had to finish it off. Yuk. tmi.

Rabbits and dogs...not sure..but we used to have a male rabbit who ..tried to do ... things to our cats....they just ...submitted! He was terrible, had the freedom of our small back garden and was always digging through to the dentit next door.
I'd get guineapigs any day! Very appreciative, like being cuddled, don't need so much space, don't dig...

I had a French lop when I was a kid. I loved that rabbit. It sounds like you have quite the menagerie. I'm jealous!
