We did with #1, didn't with #2, unsure this time- but I did not find anybody else that was waiting in my area.

My mw told me of a similar story where the couple had found out the sex and thought it was a girl. It wasn't until the mw and assistant were checking baby out that they noticed the baby was a boy. They basically told the parents to check the baby over real carefully. Once the mom realized it was a boy she looked a the video recorder her grandmother was holding and said, "I have no idea what to do with a boy." YIKES!

We are waiting to find out the sex of this one. We did find out with both my boys, but since this is probably our last, we decided to wait. I thought I might try to find out, but I'm 38 wks pregnant now and don't see it happening now. I can't wait to find out on the big day.

I chose "other." We have no plans to have a u/s unless their are complications. With DD, we waited and specifically told the u/s tech that we didn't want to know. I was extremely particular about waiting until the birth.

This time I don't much care whether we know or not. If we need a u/s and can tell, we'll find out. If we don't, we won't.

No planned ultrasounds so we wont find out till the babe is here! We found out with dd but this time I am perfectly content with it being a surprise!

not here. we did with kayleigh, not with ethan, and did with norah. this is the last time, so we're going for the surprise again.

I want to find out as soon as possible, so we can start decorating the nursery and buying baby clothes accordingly. I think, this being my first, I'll be too overwhelmed after the birth to focus on buying clothes and doing stuff then.

This is our third. I didn't find out with our two boys. This time I want to know because even though I'll try not to, I'll be hoping for a girl - not fair to do if there's another wonderful boy in there!!! I'm finsing out early so that I can focus on loving the baby for who s/he really is - not my silly gender preferences!

This is exactly how I feel! Also, I used to live in Oak Park, MI, too

not sure yet. w/my first, dh was adamantly opposed. said it was one of hte few surprises left in life blah blah blah.

The dr doing the us put the gender in a sealed envalope and within days, I was holding that up to the light trying to figure out what it said. I thought it was girl and I was right. I HATE waiting!!

I'll see what dh says this time.

We are going to find out via ultrasound. I wanted it to be a suprise, but DH insisted that we find out.. well he insisted HE find out, but if he gets to know- so do I!

Since I will be having 2 more ultrasounds this pregnancy due to medical neccesity. I will find out if baby co-operates.

This is probably the one and only time in my life that I'll be truly surprised (everything, from meeting a whole new person to finding out the sex).

So, no, we're not going to find out. Plus, I really think it'll piss off family and friends and that will bring me a small amount of joy as they grumble about having to get gifts that are "green" or "yellow."

We're waiting. We have always waited until the baby is born to find out.

I need to know for when I am weeding out DD's clothes. We are in a VERY small house and can't hang onto too much unnecessary stuff...

This is probably me being all first-timer and all, but how do you shop if you don't know?????? I'm DYING to find out so I can start picking some things out!

well, i bought some of both when i was pregnant with ethan (we didn't find out and had only had a girl before). we don't do nurseries, so not much to buy there. i had fun shopping after, though. i bought gap & visa gc's while i was pregnant with him, so i could go crazy after, lol!

this time, i have enough of both gender to get us by for a week or so. i bought some organic gap sleepers/socks/hats that are natural/ gender neutral, and i'm sewing up some outfits in both genders. i can always sell/donate/gift the outfits we don't need. i like girly stuff for girls, so besides a few sleepers, i don't do the gender neutral thing. to me gn = boyish, lol!

I loved all the yellow and green baby clothes. Dd had this really cute sleeper with rainbow-colored stars on it. Babies look adorable in white outfits too!

We want to know as soon as possible! We want to be able to shop for everything we want and need and we've already been asked by my SIL and my Mom to let them know so they can shop too! :-)

I would like to find out. We are all kind of hoping for a girl, even ds. DS (3.5) said "We already have a boy!" So if it turns out to be a boy I think ds would need some time to adjust, because he's really psyched about having a baby sister. Dh and him already refer to the baby as she. Plus I would like to know if I need to buy some girl stuff or be all set with what we have.
