ACK!! Accidental felting!

I am NOT happy right now.

The owner of the LYS pressed me into doing a custom dye job to attempt to match a skein I made a year ago. I was skeptical that I was going to manage it, but I actually did on the 2nd try! The colors were a perfect match.

THen I tossed the skein of supposedly superwash into the wash. And it came out like dreadlocks. I'd accidentally grabbed one of the wool/silk blend yarns I'd bought for myself instead of the superwash. Of course, the skein that came out too dark was the superwash, it was the skein that was perfect that felted.

Obviously I can't sell it, but is there anything I *can* do with it? Or is it just so much garbage?

What, like turn it into dreadlocks (I believe the term is "hair falls") and stick it up on ebay?

Yeah, there's profit somewhere in here, I'm sure.

No, like I said, it literally looks like dreadlocks. What was a large hank, is now a couple clumps of varying widths. There are no individual strands of yarn left.

Flapjack - thank you for the laugh... but I'm not really concerned about making money off of it. I just hate to throw it away.

I've never felted before, so I don't know if I can do anything with this... can I felt it more? Like if I wrap it into a sphere shape, can I felt it into a ball?

You need to post a picture. You probably could bunch it up inside of something, like a ball, but then you wouldn't see the lovely color you created. I kind of like the dread lock idea. Maybe for a doll?

Like someone suggested, I would make a ball with it. You could even use parts of it as the core, then wrap some yarn around it to make it more round. Stick it in a sock, wash a few times, and you have a great ball!
