I've been watching this trailer for a while now (it makes me cry every time) and I cannot remember the last time I've been so excited and anxious to see a new movie (besides HP and LotR).

Have you seen the trailer?

Are you counting down the days (ignore the trailer, it opens on April 24th)?

Jamie Foxx looks like he's got another great performance on the way and Robert Downey Jr. looks impressive also.

I haven't seen the trailers but I just read the book. It is SOO good.

The author of the book/reporter (Robert Downey Jr's character) was on the Diane Rhems show the other day and the interview made me cry. It's such an incredible story and the "follow up" that was talked about in the interview was really amazing. I think you can get it at npr.org...I might go check that right now.

I heard this too, and it really made me look forward to the movie.

Wasn't the book written after the movie? Wasn't the movie based off of columns that Lopez wrote? So, is the book based off of the movie (like, tweaked for Hollywood)? It's not as if he wrote a novel and then they made a movie, right?

Steve Lopez wrote the columns, then the book. Now there is the movie (written by a different screenwriter but based on the book.)

I don't know about the plot but man, I love Bach cello suites played in the trailer. I gave birth to my second daughter listen to Yo Yo Ma's renditions.

This is based after a true story. I saw the real men on an interview on dateline or something one night. I look forward to the movie as well.

My mom read this book and then lent it to me. It was very touching. We're going to see the movie together, I can't wait.

I guess I should have worded it that "I don't know about the execution of the plot" rather than just the plot, knowing it's a true story or rather, based on a true story.

Just finished this book & it touched me deeply. Everyone should read this.

I was looking on the magazine Symphony website, and they have this article about Nathaniel Ayers, the subject of the movie The Soloist. I hope you enjoy it!
