s/o: did your child wean at 5x birthweight? - Page 4

The Chunk has just hit the 5x birthweight mark and he's still going (at 2 yr 3 mo.). I expect that it will increase in frequency when new milk comes in with the new baby. He's really looking forward to it.

My self-weaned child was 2.5 and between 3-4 times his birthweight.
My mama-weaned child was about 5x his birthweight when I weaned him.

DS was 6.5 lbs at birth and at 3 1/2 weighs 34 lbs. I wouldn't say he's fully weaned. He probably nurses once or twice a week (some weeks not at all). But he's pretty darn close. So I think that's about 5x his weight anyway.

DS1- Birthweight 10lb 8oz, Five times would be 52lbs 8oz. He weaned just before he turned 5 years old. He did weigh around that!

DD-Birthweight 11lb 4oz, Five times would be 56lbs 4oz. She's still nursing but I'm positive she'll wean well before that. She's barely 30lbs at 3 years old so I'd guess that she'll be about 8 or 9 by the time she's 56 lbs!

DS2 was born smaller than DS1 but is gaining at an even faster rate. I have a hunch that he'll wean well after he hits five times his birth weight.
