My understanding is that vaccines that work against certain bacteria are really a dangerous health measure since the bacteria that we try to eliminate will be replaced by others that are not covered in the vaccine.

How is the vaccine successful when the overall rate of meningitis and encephalitis has not gone down?

Here is a good article that explains this -

Sisyphus and the Conjugate Vaccine

Make sure you read part 2 and 3 as well.

Please, do go and sort out all the "errors" and conflicts of interest on insidevaccines, thanks.

From the article:

Quote:
Parental vaccine refusal endangers lives. Here we have a situation in which an unavoidable shortage of a vital vaccine, has combined with an irrational parental mistrust of expert scientific opinion to create a critical mass of vulnerable children. The result, so far, is four dead children.
First of all, a baby presents with an illness. They look for Hib and find it because it's normal to find. They give a very powerful course of treatment. The baby dies. How do we know it wasn't the treatment that killed? How do we really know the Hib was the cause, since it is normal to find? Throughout history, viruses and bacteria have been blamed for illnesses and it turned out to be untrue.

Dr. Starfield's JAMA article places the number of doctor created deaths at about 225,000 per year. Where is the outrage over that?

According to the MMWR, the rate of Hib infection is *not* increasing.

2003 - 32 cases
2004 - 19 cases
2005 - 9 cases (strange anomaly?)
2006 - 29 cases
2007 - 22 cases
2008 - 30 cases
2009 - 7 cases so far (up thru week 12, all the data that is available on MMWR)

If we continue at the same rate for the rest of the year, that will bring us up to 23 some odd cases for the year. Less than last year, and about the same as the year before. And don't they ever look at the undeniably increasing rate of non-type B Hi disease and at least wonder about that, even just a little?

thanks all....my husband happened upon this and it scared him...especially the hib stuff. We have selectively and delayed to this point, and to be honest I am still unsure about a lot, but there are some I have no questions on. For me hep b, hep a and chickenpox have been easy to pass up...my almost 4 yr old dd has still not had mmr and I'm unsure if I should give it to her at 4 or not. my almost 6 yr old ds is past due for mmr dtap and polio boosters and I can't decide what to do...my 1 year old has received 2 dtap, 2 polio 1 prevnar and 1 hib (just started at 10 months, 2 at a time, for many reasons) and I still feel unsure...they are all home (no outside care/school) and were breastfeed for almost 2 yrs, (1 year old still nursing) not given solids until 7 months we eat well etc...just such a tough one. We live in a very international community and have lots of friends/family that travel internationally quite often so that goes into the equation as well....i will look into the website and keep trying to learn....I appreciate all feedback and advice, thank you.
