Very Baby vs Celtic Cloths (patterns)

Help me decide!

I'm a newbie cd sewer....so far, I've only sewn diapers from the pre-cut fabric that diaperkit.com sells.

But, I am considering either Very Baby or Celtic Cloths pattern (AIO). Anyone have both and prefer one over the other? Anyone want to help me decide?

I use them both and like them for different reasons. Will you be doing velcro or snaps?

I have both but haven't used the celtic cloths one yet. The very baby aio pattern was the first diaper I ever made and was soooo easy. I love all the tutorials they have for making pocket diapers and such out of it. Anyway, jmo.

Hmm...maybe I should buy both! I'm still a bit torn as to if I want to make mainly AIOs or pockets.....

I'd recommend pockets over AIOs anytime. I made a bunch of AIOs for the newborn stage and they took FOREVER to dry, to the point I started getting so annoyed with them I just stored them away.

Yeah, that's what I've been thinking....I've been considering putting the soaker fabric as a snap-in, so that it'll be quick drying.

If you are the easy, want to do no stuffing type (like me, basically ) I saw some diapers that have two soaker layers sewn on to the dipe on one side - stitched on to the back. This means that those layers are still free to dry individually, yet they are permanently attached to the diaper. Having said that, once you get a bit of practice, stuffing pockets is no hassle at all.
