head banging?

We have a ring sling, and dd is quite content in it, but I keep banging her head on the rings! Am I doing something wrong? Is there a better way to seat her in the thing? She's in a forward facing lotus position. Just walking bops her head into the rings. It doesn't seem to bother her too much, but I'd really rather not have her little noggin' connecting with metal.
In case seeing helps:

There are three different photos, including a close up of the ring/shoulder part.
I've never posted photos before, so I hope it works!

I think the rings are too low down on your chest, they need to be closer to your shoulder.

No advice, but she is absolutely adorable!

I had that thought too, but if you look at the close up of the ring part, it's pretty much as high as it can go and still be spread on my shoulder. I think. I'll try hiking it up a bit though.
Do you think I might be able to put her in there some other way (still forward facing)?

Absolutely adorable!

You aren't doing anything wrong, in my opinion. It's a very good carry and you have the ring sling on as it should be.

Here's a tip about the rings -- loop the tail through the rings after you have it on. It will cushion the rings and protect her head.

You look fine to me too.
Awesome pics!

And the wrapping of the rings look like the blue and orange slings on the home page here:

Yup just wrap the tail around the rings.

I was taught early on in my babywearing life by a Guatamelan mama to wear your sling "backwards!" Put the rings on your back with the tail coming down your back towards the hand that you would use to pull & tighten it! Pop your baby in facing out just like you have there in your pix, but the rings will be on your high back! Pull the tail downwards to tighten it through the rings, and the rings will end up in your mid-back and no where near her pretty head! I've been wearing my ring slings "backwards" for 5 babies now, and loving it!

Your baby is so adorable!!

I second the advice to loop the tail around the rings to provide some cushion.

Thanks so much for the help! I never would have thought to wrap the rings - such a simple solution. I'll try the backwards thing too. Now that you mention it, I think I remember a mention of doing such a thing for brand new babies in a Dr. Sears book.
(and we think the babe is pretty cute too )

Peaceful sprout - how do you loosen the sling with it backwards?

I reach behind me and pull up on the rings to loosen!!! This works best on a "regular" sling, like a Maya Wrap or Ellaroo, less well with a Sakura Bloom
