Daily Chat ~ April 4th - Page 3

We had a pretty good day. Ended up DTD while DD had rest time, it was actually enjoyable. Then went and walked around for a while and ate out and got yummy ice cream for dessert! Nothing happening baby wise, well actaully just had a contraction while writing...we'll see if they continue...Goodnight everyone, sleep well!!!! Well not for those having babies...go babies go!

She's this older woman (mid-50s maybe) who was just incredibly wise and interesting to talk to, so we actually spent more time talking than massaging. She seemed kind of like Peggy O'Mara, actually, and we talked about what it's like being a mom in this generation, being a woman, how isolated we all are without "villages," etc, and she talked about how she really wants to get connected with the current generation of mothers (like our crowd) so that she can she her wisdom and nurturing. She's someone I definitely want to stay in touch with. It was great.
Amy that is so great you enjoyed more than just your massage...I'm always saying I was born in the wrong generation...I love the years past when everyone sat out on their front porches and knew their neighbors and had church potlucks and helped others out...Now it seems we are so isolated, everyone goes into their houses and that's it.

I didn't have any blood before labor either...So sorry about Mathias, I'll say a prayer for him tonight!

I feel so bad for my cousin dealing post surgery with stiches and having a terrible cough.
I don't get why people do that either. My sister, as most of you know, decided not to come to DD's party and see baby as she feels someone in her family is always sick (which isn't realistic) and she didn't like my request that everyone be 100% healthy. Sooo hearing these stories just confirms my decision to protect my newborn at least for the first 2 months!

I liked it, but one of the spots she put one of the needles really hurt!!!! The needle didn't hurt going in, but it made my hand hurt so badly! Anyway, I think I'll try one more time on Wednesday and then I can see if my body is making ANY change when I go to the Doctor on Thursday.
I did accupuncture for the first time for morning sickness, twice. I hated it. I just couldn't relax. I do have an appointment set at another place (female, more papmpering like) for 38 1/2 weeks just incase nothing has started...Hopefully I don't have to get to that point but if I do I hope I enjoy it more this time. Glad you enjoyed it aside from the one hurty spot!!!

Woah! Lots to respond to!!
Melissa - Sorry about your grandpa, mine was in hospice for a while before he died too. You know its coming, but you dont realize how hard it is when they actually do pass away

Bri - Hope Mathias is better soon, RSV is going around our town too!!

Mel - Poor Neela!!! I hope she gets better FAST!!!

All the mucus-y and bloody moms - Oh man, soooo close!! I hope to read about a lot of babies being born in the next few days!!

DD1 has an ear infection. She went from the ear just hurting to SCREAMING and begging to go to the doc in one hour last night!!! We went to the ER and were seen in TEN minutes, diagnosed and out of there in 20 min, tops. So awesome. After we got the prescription, she felt better instantly and has been amazing and feeling great all day!

We went to the zoo for a fun event today and I got a BH that hurt so bad, I had to stop walking!!! I was EXCITED and couldnt stop smiling!!!! Almost time!! Just like with dd1, I didnt really get BH until I was really close to having her. (well, none like the big one today)

Im proud of what I did today! Took dd to the zoo, chatted with all my fellow employees, found some awesome videos and books at a rummage sale, gave our cat a bath, did dishes, did 4 loads of laundry(its put away too!), changed our bed linens, cleaned and organized the tables (Im a stack maker and purged some things), printed the hospital list for all of us, packed baby bag and ate really healthy today!

Tomorrow is the shower my mom is throwing, Im excited because shes a professional cake maker (as a side job) and she always surprises me with fun cakes!!

Have a great night and Im warning you ladies, I better see more birth announcements tomorrow!!!:

I'm proud of you too! What an awesome day! Walking around all day put me into labor last time, so that sounds like a good one- plus I love the zoo! I wish I had the time today for a few rummage sales, ah well, maybe next weekend.

He manages phone and computer systems for companies. He is on call 24/7 365 days a year, it's always something. A hotel's system crashes at 8pm and they can't check anyone in nor even enter tickets in at the restaurant, bank crashes and no one can do deposits, the gas plant sends all the employees home because no one can do any work when their system is down, on and on.

Hoping that you are deep into real labor this time!

Yeah I really liked the accupuncture but am scared of that one spot for next time. I really hope it doesnt hurt - but if it helps, sobeit!!!!

I'm sorry to hear about Neela, MelW. I can only imagine how hard it is going to be to see this little guy and any future kids be sick. It must make you feel so helpless, but I'm sure just being there with her and loving her like you do makes her feel better .

Wow Lindsay - you have been productive! You go girl !

Amy, I'm glad you got to have a nice massage today too! I think we all deserve massages .

Oh, I had a dream last night that we all met up irl! It was such a nice dream. Of course, it was combined with the other whacky dreams I was having last night and there werne't many of us there and I don't remember too much of it, I just know there was a meet up and it was so nice to meet some of you in person. Clearly, in case I didn't know this already, I spend too much time on this forum, but I can't help it. Its so nice to come on here and daily chat our ways to our wonderful births together . I do remember seeing MI_Dawn during the dream and feeling so glad to be able to meet her and give her my condolences in real life (although I wasn't sure if I had the chance to talk to her or not). Of course, I don't think I have even seen a picture of her before so I just made up what I think she looks like, but thats pretty par for the course in dreams. Regardless, it was a nice dream!!!!

ETA: Pregnant_Midwife - I hope this is it, best wishes!!!!

It feels just like a professional one! He used a nice soothing lotion and everything . Then he ran a bath for me and I went with a girlfriend for a pedicure, which was so nice. Lastly, he tucked me in for a nap when I got home while he cleaned the house :-D. Now we are looking to have a nice dinner somewhere.

Hope everyone is enjoying their weekend!!
Awesome day, Michelle!

oh, damn! Sorry about that. Sorry Neela's still sick. it probably would be best for baby to wait until the germs clear. Good luck tonight.

Not much going on here...back ache, pelvic ache...did get a lovely nap this afternoon, though.

just had a lovely back rub from dh...having some low cramps front & back and a very 'full' feeling in the lady parts....some obvious bh, but all this could go on for another week, I guess

dtd then uhm made sure i o'ed, cause i heard that's important for things. I thought i heard a small pop, however now I think it was a bone popping, cause i don;t think i see waters leaking...darn! And with dd when waters started leaking I immediatly felt the contractions and am not getting any, darn darn. I was hoping.

baby is super active tonight and still very crampy...but I thought babies always quiet way down before birth? Maybe she's trying to wiggle into position? Anyone ever have this happen before birth?

Peony, so sorry about your husband. That must be an insane but addictive job.

As for me- mucous, braxton-hicks, baby poking at my cervix BUT she is still posterior. Other than that I feel fine!
