We have found some wonderful books for both my 2 yo and almost 6 yo, that are full of pictures, which make the story & they or I can tell it BUT there are no words. Not sure what exactly to call these types of books but we LOVE them. Here are the ones I've found
Any of the Barbara Lehman books, Train stop, museum, rainstorm, the red book
http://www.amazon.com/s/ref=nb_ss_b?...barbara+lehman

Rain by Peter SPier
http://www.amazon.com/Peter-Spiers-R...8850576&sr=8-1

A midnight summer's Eve (looking for the author)
About a bear who follows some bees into a tree, and he becomes the smallest creature etc. etc.

Window by Jeannie Baker
http://www.amazon.com/Window-Jeannie...8850850&sr=1-1

Anyone else have any suggestions? likes these books?

You already know about some of my favorites. There are others by Peter Spier and Jeannie Baker. And there's Anno's Counting Book, Anno's Journey, and The 46 Little Men (by Jan Mogensen.)

"Spring" by Gerda Muller. There are three others in the series, "Summer," "Autumn," and "Winter." DD really likes all of them (though she is younger - 16 months).

Not sure how much toddlers would appreciate it, but my favorite wordless picture book is Wave by Suzy Lee. It's beautiful.

Suzy Lee also has a picture book about a family at the zoo that has very minimal words.

Jeanette Winter did the Owen and Mzee story in a nearly wordless picture book called Mama that I really liked.

Here is a link to my book list wiki for a few more great wordless picture books: http://mindysbooklists.pbwiki.com/Wordless

Hope this helps!

Thanks everyone, we have all the gerda muller books, forgot about those. I will check our library for other titles of the authors we love... forgot to do that! The zoo book by suzy lee we checked out a while back, forgot that too.
It's just so hard checking the library catalogue, i don't know if there is a way to search for these types of books... usually we just run into them in the new book section or the displayed book section.

Anyone else

Very fun! It's called In the Town All Year 'Round by Rotraut Susanne Berner. Originally published as separate books in German. We wish we could find the compilation in German!

One of THE classics in this genre is a 1960s book called Les aventures d'une petite bulle rouge (the adventures of a little red bubble. Aside from the title, there is no text, so don't let the French put you off.) My DS (3 y.o.) absolutely adores this book.

ETA: I just checked and it doesn't look like it's easy to find in the US, but FWIW, this is readily available in Canada and Europe. I would also imagine that some US libraries would have it.

One of our favourites is Hug by Jez Alborough. It's about a baby chimp called Bobo who's looking for his mum to have a hug. The only words are "Hug", "Bobo" and "Mummy"

Wave by Suzy Lee

Wonderful book about a girl and the ocean. Its sooo simple and yet sooo expressive. Love it! :
