im gunna try and write this out while little lady is having a nap lol
I went to bed at about midnight and led on the bed listening to my ipod.... at about 1am i got a braxton hick and was desperate for a wee, i went and had a wee and a poo (lol) and seemed very wet... i put on a pad and went back to bed... at about 1.30 i started to feel like i had food poisoning, the cramps and the pooing but the cramps were coming every 10mins, i started to think i might be in labour but tried to rest for as long as i could.. at 2.30 i decided to get out of bed and rest on the settee... at 4 i rang the midwife saying i thought i was in labour but wasnt sure if it wasnt food poisoning
she arrived at 4.30 and examined me and said i was 7cm's dilated !!
I rang Helen (birth partner) and the midwife rang the 2nd midwife and they arrived at 5... at about 5.15ish i started on gas and air and after a while i started to need to push,. i moved so that i was leaning on the back of the sofa...
I pushed and used the gas and air and ended up stood up, rocking my hips between contractions and squatting into the contrax
then i changed my mind!! I didnt want to have a baby today, i wanted to go to bed, i was tired and i couldnt do it.. the midwife kept saying i was nearly there and it wouldnt be long and i kept saying i wasnt doing well... it wasnt working and she wasnt coming out!!
my midwife called the other midwife over and she put on her gloves etc just as Graces head crowned.... that was the most painful bit and i panted and shouted!!!!!!
one push and the waters burst and Grace was born... the midwife lifted her up between my legs and into my arms, just as ds walked through the door at 6.36am (second stage is recorded as 6 mins) weighing 8lb 13oz
she was latched on the breast within 10 mins and i delivered the placenta naturally about 20 mins later
a nice labour to be honest and it went exactly as i planned.....exept that the newborn baby gro i had picked out didnt fit her lol
