Beco or Babyhawk?

Hello! I am a total babywearing newbie. I am looking for something to wear my DD on my back this summer while sightseeing. We are roadtripping out west (MI to UT) and will be stopping at several parks along the way.

I have a Kelty carrier that is ok, but it is so bulky and it is in UT right now so it's not much good to me. My boyfriend and I will both be using the carrier, I am 5'4" and slim and he is 6'0" and medium build. DD will be 15 months, she is about 26 pounds and 33".

The Beco Butterfly looks nice but is pricey! I like the look of Mei Tais but can't decide which one to get. The custom Babyhawks are so cute but there are so many out there other than those.

Give me your recommendations! Thank you so much!

I have both, and love each of them. But, if I had to choose one, I'd get a Beco Butterfly over a Babyhawk. And actually, what I have is a Toddlerhawk, which is the same as the babyhawks but with a slightly taller body. If you decided on the Mei Tai, I'd get the Toddlerhawk since you have a toddler. You can always fold up the bottom once or twice if it's too tall.

Another option in case you haven't considered it yet, is an Ergo. I am loving this carrier even more than my Beco for use with my 24 month old. Because it doesn't have the internal seat, it's much easier to get him in and out quickly. The colors are just no where near as cute as the fabric choices for Beco and Babyhawk, so that's I got an embroidered one

As far as bulkiness when you are not using them, the Babyhawk will fold up the smallest, followed by the Beco, than the Ergo. I'd say the same about bulk when wearing, too.

The Ergos look like they would be very warm for both me and DD. Are they?

The Ergo is made of a very heavy canvas as opposed to the cotton twill inner panel and quilter's cotton lined body of the Beco. Even though it has an extra panel, it doesn't feel as "thick" to me, if that makes sense.
I vote for Beco too since you like your Kelty. It's just so intuitive for people to use the Butterfly if he / she has any experience with a backpack.
Another nice feature with the Beco is that you can transfer the carrier with baby/toddler in it without having to take her out of it. Might be useful for hikes / walks around the parks.

Another vote for the Beco Butterfly! It's super easy to get your baby on your back too because of the integreted seat! Plus they are GORGEOUS!!
