Dirty Aplix

I have two BG 3.0's that somehow got poop on the underside of the aplix, the part that attaches to the laundry tabs. Should I just try to wash them by hand, put them through a cycle on their own, wash them with the rest without using the laundry tabs, or something else?

This happened to us. I took the aplix tabs and pinned them back, so that they wouldn't attach to the laundry tabs, and then washed them normally.

I just leave them open and wash as usual - I find even with the laundry tabs, stuff still sticks together, so for me, I don't find it's a problem if I need to leave them open.
