Please help with new stash for new baby

I am pregnant with baby number two due in September and wanted to see if you ladies could give me some help with building a stash for this baby.

A little history: I was very determined to CD with ds and started using a diaper service from the start and using prefolds with covers. It was pretty much a disaster and we had all sorts of problems with leaking and blowouts. I was very disappointed and ended up giving up and using sposies until ds was almost a year old when we tried out FB's after hearing such good things about them. We really liked them except for the bulkiness. We also tried out Thirsties fitteds and did not like them at all because it didn't wick away the wetness and that seemed really uncomfortable. We tried BG's but didn't like those as much as FB's. So I ordered a few FB one size to see how those would be but I'm not sure if they will fit a newborn. DS was 10lbs 1oz at birth so I'm not expecting a small baby this time around either so I don't really need nb stuff just something that will fit a 9 or 10 lb baby. We always used sposies at night because I never did figure out a good solution for going all night with cloth. I have never tried out wool because I always think of wool as being itchy and uncomfortable and don't want to pay the high price to find out whether I'm right or not.

So basically I would just like your opinion on what is best for a pretty big newborn other than prefolds and covers and what is best for overnight. Also, is there anything like a FB that is trimmer? And can those of you who love wool convince me that it is not scratchy and uncomfortable. I really want to be prepared this time and go cloth all the way without all the frustration I had to deal with last time. TIA!:

There are quite a few pockets that are trimmer than FBs. Swaddlebees are trimmer and so are GAD pockets. As for wool being itchy I really think you need to feel a lanolinized cover it is soooooo soft. If the prefolds and fitteds bothered you because they didn't wick away the wetness you could just lay a raw silk or fleece liner in them and baby feels dry even though the diaper is soaked.
The one size diapers are all going to be bulky on a newborn even a big one because of the rise unless the baby is really long.
For overnight I love Bamboozles with a double fleece stacinator cover or a wool cover. A triple layer hemp prefold in a happy heiny's will also go all night.
Swaddlebees AIO's have a pocket that you can put an insert in. I found if I stuffed these they were super absorbant, fit trimly, and contained messes.
My absolute favorite diaper though is jamtots berry plush. These always win. They are an AIO but you can use the cover with other fitteds or prefolds and they contain messes very nice. Plus they are the cute and soft.
I have tried happy heiny's, fuzzibunz and swaddlebees, baby kangas, bum genius, mommy's touch, prefolds, fitteds, berry plush, rumpsters and motherease. I like to try a little of everything.

Nillarilla-Thank you so much for your great ideas and suggestions! I will definitely try some of those out, the jamtots berry plush look really cute-I'll definitely get some of those.

Anybody else have any suggestions?

You could get sized FuzziBunz, which would be trimmer. I also adore Green Acre Designs (GAD) pockets which are nice and trim.

For night, we do fitteds (Bamboozle or Kissaluvs) or prefolds with a Dancing Bears fleece soaker. Totally bulletproof. This is the only solution that got my heavy-wetting dd through 12 hours of sleeping and nursing.
