dying inside

I was in a social setting with pregnant friends who are carrying little boys and are on the fence about circ (DHs want it, DWs think it might be an "unnecessary intervention"). Then anther DH starts going off about preventing STDs and HIV. I was trying to not sound like a raving lunatic. It's so hard to stay calm enough for people to actually listen to what you are saying. Why can everyone not see the craziness? Every time a friend is pregnant, I pray that it will be a girl.

You know, my little toes don't really add much to my quality of life, but I've broken them and that hurts like heck. I think I'll take DD in on Monday to have her little toes cut off so that she won't ever have to worry about breaking her toes or getting ingrown toe nails. An ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure.

I know exactly how you feel FernG.

My situation is a bit more complicated since the mother refuses to look at anything I offer and is quite stubborn on doing it because of the way it 'looks'. She WANTS to remain ignorant! Geesh, I wonder if she discriminates against my intact boys because of they way they 'look' uh yeah 'down there' as if she would even care WHAT THEY LOOK LIKE 'down there'. Its not that far fetch since she is so hung up on the way her son is going to 'look' like down there. Why can't they just LEAVE IT ALONE??? And they accuse US of being crazy??? For what??? Oh yeah, advocating for the integrity of the child's reproductive organs as in LEAVE IT ALONE!!!

Sorry, I'm jumping on your bandwagon here.

I SEE the discrimination and prejudice and its just heart breaking.

Its comforting to know that you too are leaving your son intact. I will be forever excited if you're pregnant with a boy. Thank you for that.

Oh, yeah, when I was pregnant this last time I really, really hoped for a boy and hoped that my other friends would have girls! Not only because I really wanted a boy (I had a girl already) but also the boy would be safe from circ in our family.

Anyway, I have a beautiful intact baby boy now and all my church friends are having girls. LOL.
