My vacuum died.

My vacuum has died a bad death. No chance of reviving it. Anyone have any recommendations for a good vacuum that is not over the top expensive? I also have stairs so I need one that has an attachement.

It's on the expensive side (at least to me), but my parents have an Electrolux that works amazingly! DH and I plan to get one once we can afford it because our vacuum is dying a slow, painful death. My parents seriously went thru like 2 or 3 vacuums a year prior to getting their Electrolux 3 years ago. It works really well, but like I said it's expensive at probably around $200-300!
