Daily Chat - April 5th

Thread Starter
Good morning! I am up early where I see lots were up late.So I'll start out the new chat for today.

Pug/bloody show- I've never really lost any with my pgs so I look but never expect to see any. I would be so completely surprised if I ever did see any. Of course I have had a spot or two are DTD or internal exams but that's only if my cervix is roughed up. I think I am really good at carring babies just not the getting them out part!

Trying to remember what others posted in yesterday's thread- but still pretty early and my 1 cup of coffee hasn't kicked in yet!

Shine- I soo want to get mine out to the zoo, but the weather up here in MN has not been cooperative. Snowed up here last night again. Maybe this week while the dc are off for spring break. We have one of the few "free" zoos left in the US here and I love going there. If worse comes to worse I'll get DS4 there before school gets out for the olders after I've had lo- it'll be a nice change I'm sure.

For the mamas getting messages so jealous! I don't get those often enough. I've never done acupuncture or even gone to a chiropractor- my mom does both as well as my step-father but it still kinda scares me. I remember going w/my stepdad as a child and heard popping (chiro) its still very vivid in my head!

Hope you mommas that were feelin little pains last night are having big ones today! I've noticed we get lots of babies over the weekends so lets see how many we get this weekend!:

Can you tell I am feeling very animatied this am? (sorry about all the siggys)

Oh for me last nights sleep over for the dc went well- got up to pee at 1:30 and they all were still awake but quiet. then an hour and a half later again to pee and they were all alseep. Hope they all sleep late this am!

While picking them up last night I was talking to their mother and aunt (who used to be very good friends of mine- are still friends now but not as close) and they'd heard about the induction next Fri and basically invited thmselves to the hospital! I tried telling them Sat to visit would be better but that didn't fly and then said after 3! God I am gonna have to get a guard dog to watch the door and make sure only DH and BFF are there when actually delivering! Sure come after he's born but please wait till then! Their mother used to be one of my best and I guess just feels she gest to be there for the birth because it was something I wanted a few years ago (if I had had another at that time) but now our relationship isn't like that and I choose who I choose for a reason. But my BFF is a really good bull dog and will make sure I get the privacy and isn't afraid to speak her mind!

Well I rambled a lot -ssooooo....

Blah. Crappy night of sleep, plus head-ache since yesterday afternoon. : We did go for a really nice walk last night though (the weather was perfect yesterday!) and it felt good. I thought it might help me sleep better, but not so much. AND it didn't even prompt any contractions. Boo!

Lindsay, sorry to hear about your DD's ear infection, b ut that's great that your ER experience was so quick and easy! And way to go on your power-nesting today!

Michelle, what a cool dream. That would be so awesome if we could all meet up IRL.

Sounds like a lot of people are right on the verge! Exciting to see whose day it will be today.

HAPPY DUE DATE TO....

Amy- I am finding the title of your thread soooo funny right now. What is wrong w/me this am? Slap happy but can't sleep I think!

Maybe we should pull the birth predictions up so they can start to be updated! I forgot all about them till yesterday when you posted them. i hope people start to update them.
i'm tired this morning. went to bed at around midnight but woke up at around 4 and couldn't get back to sleep for a long time. just couldn't get comfy (of course) and was feeling really restless. finally fell back asleep at around 5-something. woke up (in the middle of a weird dream about performing in a marching band LOL) to my DD coming downstairs and spooning me on the recliner (that's where i sleep every night, have for about 5mos now). that was lovely, but it was only 6:30. cut the loveliness a bit.

dh is still sleeping upstairs, but i can't blame him. he busts his arse all day long. he's my angel.

i'm hoping for some labor action today because i don't want dh to go into work tomorrow. the kids are off all week this week and it would just be perfect if i could deliver today and we could all just take a dang break. please please please!

Good Morning to you all too.

I was up very early yesterday morning as well. I think the 'nesting' in me is finally starting to kick in. I've got the aromatherapy going in with:

Frankincense

Neroli

&

Ylang Ylang

I didn't exactly sleep well either. Wait one sec. Got to switch the laundry... brb...

OK back.

My landlord has been in town since Feb. she was working on our house until the contractor had a fatal heartattack (I pray for his family ) but since Feb. We've had tons of unfinished work on this house as in open walls (thats not going to be good for when the bugs come out and critters crawl in) but she won't allow us to fix it because she has her mind made up on what she wants done and thats it! She can't do anything or wont because she is working on her other house down the street and has been very very busy on that house. I hope she gets done. Despite good intentions and trying to remain positive and supportive of her wishes and even helping her with the other house, she comes over yesterday and tells dh that we have to find another place to live! I HAVE THIS HANING OVER MY HEAD JUST WHEN I'M ABOUT TO GIVE BIRTH???? IS SHE EVEN THINKING???? Our lease isn't up till May... She didn't give us a time when we had to be out so thats even more frustrating because she is so unpredictiable. Her daughter isn't any better. She knows how much we pay and WE NEVER SEE THAT MONEY! We've set it up to where our employer takes the money directly from the paycheck and deposits it into their account. They are always paid on time and some months we get paid an extra paycheck so they get paid even more... Well, my information on how much we contracted to lease for has leaked out and there is major competition with another family who says "They can pay more." For awhile that family kept coming over scouting out the house and really made me uncomfortable.

I don't know, We've offered to pay more but still no word and I think its because this other family has been putting a lot of pressure on the landord as to have her hold her word...

Now I'm RAMBLING!!!

fairymom - hoping the bloody show is productive! If my cervix is roughed up too, it'll bleed. Although, we havent' been sucessful with DTD since last Nov. dh has ED and no drive to want to 'fix' it. oh well, it hurt like hell anyways so I can't complain much.

Amy - headaches sucks! Hope you're able to get in a nap today. Drink lots of water.

I second these comments!

Fairymom, unfortunatly I wasn't the one that went to the zoo, I would have LOVED to do that but it is still yucky here in Iowa too. : today it's supposed to snow! Yuck!

I had Ctx last night and really thought things are getting going...and then had a mini panic of can I really do this, I am fine during the day but something about the night time that gets me a bit more worrisome, I don't know if it's cause I"m tired or what. So anyway after a bath the Ctx stopped. I did sleep better which was good and have had lots of mucus so far this morning as well as 2 BM. This waiting game is not so fun.... We will get out somwhere indoors (very yucky here today!) to walk today after church, I wanna walk this baby right out!

ETA I missed the post from Melissa about her grandpa passing but saw the responses. Melissa I'm so sorry for your loss! My dad passed away at hospice 6 years ago. We went back there for the first time this winter to sing christmas carols with our HS group, it was a day of mixed feelings. I miss him so much and he would have been a GREAT grandpa to our children! I pray your family finds healing!
Melissa I'm sorry to hear about your Grandfather .

Kate - I REALLY hope this is it for you. I'm curious about the movement question as well and hope someone can answer it for you .

I'm just waking up and will check back in later. Here's hoping we have lots of labors and births today. BTW how is it already the 5th of April????
Yawn - had some contractions last night that did nothing. Took some EPO and went to bed.
I'm so excited to meet baby and eventhough just at 38 weeks getting impatient to meet him. It's so hard to just wait and be patient!

Sorry Shine!

Can ya'll tell I was still kinda out of it? I am so tired from getting up at 4 or 5 every morn but I just can't sleep and find its better to get up and get going then take a short nap later. Well I went back to bed around 7 and slept again till about 8:30 and now feel rested. May have to try this tomarrow. It hard thou w/ds4 he's up by 6 EVERY morn and is on the go from then on. this am I had him go into our bed and wacth a dvd till the sun came up but by then i was back in there so he stayed put w/me so we'll see if I can come up w/some kind of routine like this for us after lo gets here.

I actually haven't had any bloody show this time around was what I was trying to say but as I have confused so much other stuff this morn I guess its to be expected. I think I'll do a do over for the am.

Good morning all!:

Amy- maybe we should have gone with your thread this morning! I was so fuddled in the head.
I'm going to start jogging. Or was it bike riding?

I really don't want to do this anymore. Bleh.
Amy - sorry about your headache, and I hope the contractions will pick up again.

Fruitfulwomb - sorry to hear about your landlord. She sounds horrible, not only because she expects you to move at such short notice, but also because she doesn't seem to care that your house appears to resemble a construction area rather than a house. I would not feel bad at all for paying less for a place like that. Do you have any rental codes in your town? Sometimes, communities try to protect renters from the negligent landlords or have rules in place how long before moving they need to notify you that you need to get out.

fairymom and Shine - I feel your dread of snow. Luckily we've been without any snow for almost 4 weeks now, but there is still a little snow that has not melted yet. We're desperate for spring at this point but first the mud has to solidify again.

I slept surprisingly well last night. I did not wake up once. I wonder if the beer I had last night had something to do with it. It still makes me feel really guilty to drink.

Got up this morning around 8.30. DH is currently making cheese grits for breakfast, and then I'm off to my office to work for a couple of hours; I need to make sure I'm not falling behind on the grading. Later today, some colleagues are having a baby show for us. I'm very much looking forward to it.

Hope there will be many labors and births today, but also that my lo can wait another day or so.

Me neither. I'd love to go on a hike or ride my bike.

fruiful womb, WTH about your landlord!??! How stressful!

My headache went away, but I still have nausea. Bleh. And I am having a MAJOR craving for those Kettle chips with salt & pepper. Mmmm! I'm going to have to go get some!

Did y'all see that Mrsbass is in labor this morning! Woo!
Good morning, everyone!

FischK, I think that the occasional drink to get a good night's sleep is worth it. I've done it a couple of times with prodromal labour stuff, at my midwife's suggestion. I prefer beer to other sleep meds for how they make me feel.

fruitful womb, sorry about your landlord! Shouldn't they at least give you a written notice of the request to move??

The due date list is funny to me, because there are so many people on it who I don't know/remember. So if you're lurking, come out and post!!!

I'm 39+1 today, which is when I had Neela. By tonight I'll be the "most pregnant I've ever been". Though looking at my belly, I think I already am- this baby feels a little bit bigger. I had a terrific sleep last night, and am once again in no big hurry to have the baby. It would be nice for it to stay inside until everyone gets better here- I'm worried that my (still sleeping) husband might be getting it now. Neela is scaring me less now, since she's drinking more, but she still has a fever and looks like cr@p. I never thought I would be excited to see a kid eat jello for breakfast. We might try some *real* solid food in a little bit.

So, do we have any other runners here who are really missing it now that Spring has started?? I live in Boston and the marathon is coming up and it is generally a big running city and it seems every day you see more and more runners out and it makes me miss it. Before I got pregnant I wasn't running that much, but since high school I've definitely been generally a runner. Anyway, just wanted to see if anyone else out there is missing being able to run (or move for that matter ).

Another question - does anyone's BH's make them feel short of breath? It's not drastic at all, but sometimes my stomach feels so tight that it makes me feel short of breath almost.

We just took the dogs to the dog park. I am planniing on heading to the gym for a swim and maybe a nice walk on the treadmill. I think I need a nap first though .

:
Ive had my fair share of SHI**Y landlords and believe me, no matter where, renters are protected!!! GO online to the fair Housing website for your state!!!
fruitful womb - that is awful that they are making you worry about that right now. I agree with pp that you have renter's rights...find out what they are. GL!!

Hi Ladies!

I haven't gotten in on the chats yet, I hope you don't mind if I join in .
First, I hope all of you that are feeling and seeing stuff happen have things pick up & go smoothly!

Fairymom, I have a hard time with people inviting themselves to the hospital. Don't be afraid to tell the nurse you don't want any visitors that first day, they will stop them before they get to you & make up something if they have to. That's one of the cool things about being in the hospital, when you get nurse on your side and they keep certain people out, politely,

I'm almost 38 weeks, but I have a scheduled c in the 39th week. I have 2 big complications that force me into the OR to have babies, but I am OK with it. I am thrilled to be this pregnant and wish it would last forever & then a minute later, I am so over it!
DH got the baby carseats out of storage and I just spied them in the back of the truck (which is horribly, disgustingly dirty, luckily he is cleaning it out!). It makes being 37 weeks seem more real! Our HB MW wants us to install them at 37 weeks so we're ready and don't have to try and do it in labor. I think it may feel weird to drive around with an empty baby seat in the car for what could be 5 weeks... I think for the truck (which barely fits a baby seat anyway) we'll just keep the seat handy. We're only having one baby, so one seat actually installed should be enough for the scenario where we'd need that carseat asap (of course I am actually hoping NOT to take baby anywhere for a few days).

Ugh, so sore, just like everyone else. I spend all night hoisting myself back and forth between lying on my left and right sides. Blah.
