we hit the one year mark!

my dd turned one year old yesterday and we're still bfing. I just have to pat myself on the back -- my dd was early and didn't nurse exclusively until 3 weeks old, then my supply dropped due to an ill-advised depo shot, then we fought through plugged ducts, mastitis and yeast. But, we made it through in large part because of the wealth of knowledge here on mdc (I found my way here looking for thrush/yeast solutions).

So, thanks to all the other mdc mamas who lend their support every day to new moms like me.

Yes, it is more worth it than I ever dreamed. Going in I knew I would bf because I *should* but I never knew how much I would benefit from it and how bonded I would feel to my dd because of it. And, of course, my dd benefits from it ten-fold.

Now, if we could only convince others that it's a good thing - ah, but that's a thread for another day.
