Stopping in the middle of a series?

We do vaccinate and all my kids are current. I have however become very uncomfortable with the Hep B vaccination as it makes no sense to me to give to a baby. My problem is that my baby has had the first two of the series. If I decline the third will that cause problems for him? Should I just go ahead and finish since we have already given him the first two? Is Hep B considered a required vaccine for school? I'm really ignorant about this and I appreciate your help!

If you are uncomfortable about it, then you should definately not do it. There is no harm in not doing the third one. I agree that Hep B is ridiculous. If you are not used to refusing vax though, be ready for your doc to give you a hard time and throw some scare tactics at you. Do your research and don't do a vax just because that is what everyone else does and that is what doc says to do. YOU are the mama, all decisions about childs well being are yours to make. If you are uncomfortable, you need to listen to yourself.
As far as school goes, what state do you live in? You can check and see what shots are required for school, and also check on what exemptions your state offers (medical, religious, phylosophical sp?).

Thank you for the reply. I have casually asked at the Dr's office if people refuse vaccinations just to see what the response was and it was pretty positive. I was told that there are people who do the alternative schedule and that they just ask the parents which shots they want and which ones they don't. However I was just asking for information sake and out of curiosity so I may get a different reaction if I was opting out. We do have a well visit before the one where that shot is scheduled so maybe I will bring it up then...
