Bleeding?

Hello all, I was wondering if you could help me ease my mind.
I got my BFP yesterday morning, I'm 5wks 2 days today. This morning I noticed some pink when I wiped after going to the loo, and over the course of the day I've had more red blood and 'tiny clots' when I wipe. I looked in the bowl and there were some small, dark red clots too. I haven't had any period cramping or back pain, and the bleeding is quite light compared with my regular period.

I went to the doctor this afternoon to get a quantitative blood test done and should have the results in 24 hrs. The doctor didn't tell me anything really, and I know that if I'm miscarrying, there's nothing that can be done to stop it. I'm looking for some reassurance that others have been through this and have gone on to have a happy, healthy baby?

Thanks for reading!

I had that with my first baby. I actually gushed quite a bit over the course of a few days so I thought I was just having my period. I didn't know I was pregnant. Then it continued on and off throughout the first and second trimesters. One morning I passed a scary sized clot when I was 20 something weeks. I rushed to the doctor but all was well. It was the strangest thing! Most of my bleeding was bright red and happened after dtd or going potty. Usually it wasn't alot. I made it to full term with no complications other than pre-e at 40 weeks for which I was induced. Doctor said the bright red bleeding was probably an aggravated vessel on my cervix. I didn't have any bleeding with my second child. So far so good as well with this pregnancy. I was on hormonal birth control for the longest time right before I got pg with my first. Part of me thinks that could have contributed to the issue but know one really knows for sure.

Thanks, saving grace. I feel a little better! The bleeding is ongoing today, I'll get my results this afternoon. I'm not holding out much hope at this stage.

speculaa - I don't have a story to share, but wanted you to know I'm thinking of you and hoping for the best.

With my DD I bled for 4 weeks straight. The only reason I found out I was pregnant was because my DH wanted me to test.. it made no sense. It was heavy on occassion, but usually fairly light. Turns out it was what's called a prechorionic hemmorage.
I wouldn't worry too much unless you get back pains and painful cramping. :
I hope everything turns out for the best. I know this isn't easy.

Yeah, no cramping or anything. No 'big' clots, just tiny ones. Trying to work and I'm just so distracted by this. It's my first pregnancy so I don't really know what to expect. I hope this bean sticks!

Well my blood test results from Monday were low...8!
But I'm going for a follow up next Tuesday to see if I'm still pregnant. I did a pee stick test on Tuesday after I got the BT result and got a bolder BFP than I did previously - how could I get a BFP with an HCG level of 8? Confusing.

I've bled lightly for three days, today it's stopped and now I see a tiny bit of brown spotting on the TP. Doctor thinks it may have been an extended implantation bleed, but I'm not sure. No cramps, I'm feeling ok too. STICK, BEAN, STICK!!!

I've had some bleeding with this one, and my cousin bled every month like a light period with her most recent child- he is happy and healthy.
