Calling all Campers- Beltaine we will go! - Page 4

i like to wash my face in the first morning dew on Beltaine, to keep my beauty

i like to "theme dress", too. sort of.

mamas, i scored huge at the thrift store yesterday! i got the most beautiful green dress. i'm shortening it and going to wear it for Beltaine. it's just gorgeous, and very flattering. ds says a skinny person wouldn't look as good in it and you know? he might be right. it's made for a buxom woman. i can't wait!
and also i got a black sundress-y thing that has batik patterns on it. it's just beautiful. i will have to sew the bodice part shut, because i pop the buttons

oh...date never called back why am i not surprised.

patience, my arse. it's been a week. you call someone after a week, don't you think? just to let them know something? anything? not to keep them hanging?
or am i totally off on my dating etiquette?

i mean, really-- we'd been emailing before we met last week. he does taxes for a town, and he was super crunched during the last of tax week, and even during that, he had the courtesy to shoot me an email after not hearing from him for 4-5 days and say "sorry, been busy, get back to you soon".
so...shit. i doubt i'll be hearing from him. even if i did, i doubt i'd go back out with him unless he had a really good excuse.

oh, i wish WE had that here. no dew in may in this part of the country, i'm afraid.

i'm sorry he's not called. that's a poopy thing. no emails either is so weird. maybe my brown eyed thing was right, then....

hugs, momma.

has it been a week already?!? My grasp on time is obviously not so good lately... seemed like we just moved in... but apparently it's been over 2weeks alread

No, you'd think a week would be about the latest it would take someone to call if they were gonna I don't think you're off on that at all.. I just think I spaced out that it'd been more than a couple of days since your date!

oh well.
hey i will ask you mamas what you think. my friend doesn't think it's too off base to shoot him an email and ask in a nutshell what happened. i'm thinking either i'm too fat or cause i'm a Witch, or maybe he got run over by a truck, but he was super nice and had the best manners so i'm baffled.
i just want some feedback, and closure, even if it was only one date. i mean, we'd been communicating before we'd actually met. i'd like to know what sent him running w/o at least saying "hey thanks, but i don't think this is going to work out".
do y'all think i should?

so we found 3 activities to do at the Beltane thingy: tissue paper flowers (natch), rock painting (I even have googly eyes), and ribbon wands. you know, attach ribbons to the ends of sticks and wave them around

i think we shall have a family beltaine thingy on friday afternoon, if ds doesn't have a playdate. i wonder what we shall do. prolly just special dinner, maybe. what are y'all having to eat on beltaine?

Maia- I think it's reasonable to ask for some simple explanation (perhaps even asking directly if x or y are the reasons) and closure. Telling him it's important to you to tie up loose ends to move on is a good reason. And then, response or no response you will pick up and move on. To bigger and better things.

3 days to Beltaine and I don't know what I'm gonna do. Right now, it looks like even making a meal will be a stretch. As long as I put out some flowers for decoration, spend a few quiet, spiritual minutes I think I can be satisfied.

I am in the same pickle. I guess my plans will depend on how spread over two locations (moving) my household is.

A friend is hosting May Day festivities at her home on the 3rd. Which is also my mother's birthday. With the move, who knows what we are going to end up doing.

sometimes that's all you can do. and if you honor the Divine even for a few minutes, that's what counts, kwim?

Absolutely- and it was really nice to be reminded.

Two more days! It's been rainy and quite cool here. April showers bring May flowers!

ita, a simple, hello? closure. thanks for playing. didja do it??

i'm leaning towards the pasta primavera idea someone mentioned a while back... and as there are very few flowers in my garden right now, i'm gonna try my dangedest (sp?) to get me some cut orchids, my fave goddessey flower. other than that, keeping the sanity at my house is a bit more of a priority at the moment, kwim?

hugs and happy celebrating vibes to all!!!

i'd love if we all did some follow up posts with pics and recaps and such! <hint>

Ummm.....methinks that whipped cream in the bedroom ain't meant to be kept all lonely IN the bowls...

SOME people...I've heard....hypothetically of course....have found that homemade sweet whipped cream doesn't have the hydrogenated crap in it and therefore doesn't stain sheets. Nor does champagne.

Strawberries, on the other hand (or whatever body part....), are forever...it seems.

I'm just sayin'!

I don't know what to do. I haven't really started doing much with the pagan holidays yet. But, since this is the time to celebrate fertility, maybe I'll just put dd to bed early so DP & I can have a little candle light & romance.
