Our little surprise is a boy! The entire family was thinking girl.

Tristian Julian was born 4/3/09, 7 lb 1 oz, 18.5 inches, DD was 4/7/09.

We were induced on 3/31 and it didn't work. Went back for a second atempt Friday morning and it went much better.

congratulations!!!

i know this sounds dumb, but i didn't realize that inductions could "not work"! i mean, i feel like my induction with DS was as close to "not working" as possible but they just kept on doing more and more and more to make him come out. NOT ideal. and i totally regret that whole process. so i guess my point is that it's great that that didn't happen to you! and that they listened to your body.

and CONGRATULATIONS again!!

Depends on the urgency of the induction and your care provider. I was only 1 cm & 30% on tues when we arrived. That is too low of a bishops score for pitocin by my care providers standards unless it is an very urgent need. We did 4 rounds of prostoglandins (cytotec - yes I'm aware of the contraversy) and made it to 2 cm and 50%. Because that is still to low of a bishops score and 4 rounds is max, the decision was made to wait 2 days see if I may any more progress on my own and give it another try.

When I arrived on Friday I was still 2 cm and 50%. We did a Folley which got me to almost 4 cm and then started pitocin. My body still wasn't very willing (it took a fairly high dose of pitocin) but, in the end it worked.

Congratulations! I love the name Tristian! I love it when our MDC mamas have boys! : well, because... you know why.

Take it easy. Back labor sucks! And recovery from such an event, I can't beleive your inductions were so hard to do! WOW! I think I might go through back labor that this time around because she is still posterior! I'm not looking forward to that (turn baby turn!). My bum hurts like hell whenever I'm bhing.

Congrats and welcome baby Tristian! : And way to go with waiting a couple of extra days- some women just opt for a c-section at that point when they really just need the time and patience that you had.
