Weekly Check-In?

Thread Starter
On the TTC boards, we did a Monday check-in every week. I always looked forward to it, both to see where everyone was at and to take stock of how I was doing.

Anyone else interested in doing something similar here?

I think it would be good for me now, since it's still pretty hard to believe I'm really pregnant! I've been slacking on coming by the boards because of it, too, and that's just not acceptable.

Sounds good to me!

I would like this I am also in the shock faze still and i am six weeks! I am so moody I cried like three times today and flipped on my mother and Dp! I said I was sorry to both but I still feel bad.

It is so so different this time around than with Ds. Last time I had no symptoms this time I have a lot I am looking at it like this one just wants to make itself be known

It is just setting in now that I am going to soon have two children and I do not know why that is scareing me more than haveing the one. I find that weird because this time I know what to expect and I know I will beable to BF I know I am able to SAH I know that I can do this. I think I am more worried how Ds will react to haveing to share Mommy and my Dp he just loves my Dp I know he will not treat Ds any different he had a step mom who did that and has always told me he would never do that to my Ds because he knows how that feels

Okay I am rambleing way to much today sorry

I think this is a good idea.

I'm trying to decide if I need to ground myself from seeking 'DrGoogle'/internet too much. I know my paranoia is normal but it's so damned consuming. So, with a weekly check in I can lay low a bit...or not.

I'm in, too. Great idea.

I'm in. Still waiting for this to fully sink in . . . eek! 3 kids! It doesn't seem completely real yet. The only symptom I have so far is crampiness, which is normal for me in early pregnancy. I have no idea how I'm going to parent my high-energy boys while in the midst of first-trimester nausea and exhaustion.

Try 5. Well I'm 5 weeks, nervous as all get out about my insurance issues, a little tired but other than that ok. Oh and I went ahead and told my family because my dh said it would just be more awkward the longer I waited and it would seem like I had something to be ashamed of. Everything was fine except for one aunt who told me that she wished she could say she was happy for me but she wasn't and that she guessed now my kids would just be like all those other huge backwards religious homeschool families. I said "yep" and hung up on her.

Ok now I'm rambling a bit.

I'm up for a check-in. That sounds like fun!

hctamommy. I was worried about comments with #4, but I was pleasantly surprised. I'm hoping it will be the same this time.

Anyone showing yet? My mom instantly knew I was pregnant so now I am paranoid. Seriously, it's maybe 6 weeks in - how did she know???

I think a weekly check in sounds great!

AFM: I got my confirmation of pregnancy done and insurance worked out. Tomorrow I have an ultrasound for "size and dates" but really to find out if it's twins or not so I stop panicking about it. I'm feeling massive amounts of fear, but a fair bit of happy, too. I think I'll feel a lot better after tomorrow.

Weekly check ins sound like a great idea. I always want to ramble, but am never sure where to put it I also think it will give us a chance to get to know eachother more!

sounds good to me too!

I just hit 4 weeks in. I'm going to wait a week or so before I 'officially' join the December DDC, but I love the idea of a weekly check in, so I hope no one minds if I join in!

I'm mostly feeling crampy (which freaks me out even though I know it's normal - I think once I reach Thursday without my period coming it won't bother me as much and really, really, thirsty. Well, and excited. And nervous. And pinching myself. And hoping, hoping, hoping everything goes well.

I think this is a totally cool idea. I'm in!

Yeah, I know 3 isn't really that many, but my first two are 3.5 and 1.5, so I'm going to have 3 kids 4 and under. And I'm 23, which means many people don't think I should have ANY children yet. And how rude of your aunt! Good for you for hanging up on her!

I don't know - some people just seem to know! A few days after I ovulated my mom called me and told me she had just had a dream where I told her I was pregnant. She doesn't know yet, though. I feel kind of bad about telling my family because my sister is pregnant with her first, and everyone's super excited, and I'm afraid I'll steal her spotlight.

a weekly check in sounds fun. Or a chat thread -- thats where I've usually posted in forme ddc's.

I'm not too worried about people around here figuring it out because I miscarried in Dec and so I've looked kind of pregnant all winter. I have to go to a family wedding at the beginning of May, which may be a bit problematic, since this is #3, so I may already be popping a bit by 8 or 9 weeks. But probably no one will pay enough attention to me to notice.

With ds2, it was funny because on older man in my church knew right away. His wife told me once I told everyone around 12 weeks that he had told her about a month ago that I was pregnant. She asked him how he could tell, and he said, "I saw that look on your face six times, woman. You'd think I'd recognize it by now."

I am doing pretty good. A bit sluggish and starting to get nauseous if I eat the wrong things or eat too much. I am really happy to have symptoms appearing, though, because it means everything is okay.

Um, and of course I bought canned crab meat at the grocery store today and made myself sushi at 10pm tonight because I was dreaming that I was eating sushi last night. Might indicate that I am pregnant . . .

I'm bloated often, so I feel like I'm showing. I'm worried someone will figure it out.

It seems overwhelming now, but it will be OK, I promise!

jilly, a day or two before I got my positive test, I ate a pound of *imitation* crab meat, dipped in seafood sauce.

Apart from me and the toddler, everyone here has been sick, but they are pretty much over it now. The kids are still a bit congested, so I think we're taking another rest day today. My dh needs more sleep, so he is driving to work today, which means he will run the errands I would have, so I don't need to worry about taking the kids out. Woot.

I'm feeling like my symptoms are subsiding a little; I didn't wake up starving this morning, I haven't felt queasy in a couple of days (but I have started taking vit B, so that could be why), and my back ache and round ligament pain are waning. It's hard to relax and enjoy it. I've passed the time when I had two of my miscarriages last time (they were shortly after my bfp), and the day after tomorrow is the point when I had another one. : Then it's a whole month until I'm past the point when I had my latest miscarriage before my youngest was born. I think I'll be able to relax once I'm out of the first trimester.

Me too! Can't seem to drink enough. Had no idea that could be a sign of pregnancy. Actually I'm really grateful for it because every time I start to think I'm hallucinating the whole pregnancy thing I remember the thirst, and I feel better because there's no way I could make that up.

Girl 3 is definitly ALOT. My babies and your babies are very close. I have one who will be 4 in two weeks and my son just made one so I feel you about having little little ones running around.

Thanks for everyone's support concerning my aunt. She actually called me the next day to "appologize" but she just felt that I was dillusional and that if someone didn't just get honest with me that my children would suffer the consequences for my decisions. Seems her biggest concern is that we homeschool and she can't bear to see another child brought into this world destined to be uneducated and unable to interact in society. At this point I simply told her that I had to go because I had to call my homeschool friend Sarah, the one with 10 kids, well she only has 7 living with her because the oldest three are at LSU, and tell her how uneducated and unsocielized her children were. Followed by click again. Some appology huh?
