Question

Is there any truth to the idea that kids with low white blood cell counts should not be near children who receive live vaxes?

Thanks!

Live vaxes can and do shed. Anyone with an immunocompromising condition should not be around them, unless of course they want a chance to get the illness.

Yeah, I know. Maybe I worded it wrong. What I'm wondering is how great do you think the risk is/how important do you think it is? I mean, how out of your way would you go to keep the kid away? How the heck can you know who just got a live vax, ya know? I know there are ages to be wary of...but if you go out, it's there.

What I'm asking is what people's concern levels here would be I guess...

My first question would be what is known about the child with a low count? Do they have a reason? What's their history? Do they tend to pick up every little thing? How well do they fight off normal bugs?
