wow 3 more people added stuff just as i was replying.

In the evenings i've been getting a lot more pressure. Mornings I wake to find it all gone. I so want to have this baby. Yes I know i'm only 38 1/2 weeks (tech i think 39 based on when we had sex and when i think i ovulated).

Today is grandpa's funeral that I won;t be going to due to being a big pregnant whale who could pop at any moment. Maybe I should have planned on going, or gone. Then maybe I would have gone into labor. That Murphys law thing, ya know? But I just couldn't chance being 1 hour away + from my birthing location when dd's birth was just under 3 hours total.

I think I'll not so suddily tell dh that he needs to do his deed tonight and help get baby out how it got baby in... yea i'm so not romantic at this point. More like, he had a job to do too.

I bought a pineapple too last night I think I'll try and see if it helps as well.

Common baby, great grandma wants to meet you and will only be here for a few more days! And no baby you are not allowed to come on your sisters birthday! Today's a really good day, or tomorrow, ya hear that baby?? Listen to your mama!

I'd say either from position baby is in, or everything stretching out to make room for baby.

I had this 2? weeks ago and OMG it hurt BAD!

Thanks and yeah its worse than it felt last time! I usually feel it the most when I get up from sitting. I hope it means baby's been trying to work his way on down. Maybe that's what all the movement has been about?

Sounds similar to what I had - I could barely walk at some points. It went away in a few days, diminishing it strength each day. Hope your's goes away soon and it means baby is on the way before too long for you

I think, to a certain extent anyway, its normal. The relaxin (best name ever) is doing its job and loosening your pelvis. Some people end up with a lot more pain though, and there could be other things happening so maybe others know more about this? I have a lot of soreness and pain though it tends to get better when I am moving around. (but its worst when I am just getting going). I remember the same with my first, and it started earlier with this one.

You should do what works for you and your family, but regardless of how your doctor presents it, you do not have to consent to ANYTHING that you don't feel comfortable with. (Induction, continuous monitoring, IVs, etc). Its her job to make her recommendations, but except in very extreme situations, they cannot *make* you do anything. She might make you sign paperwork that says you decided not to follow her reccs. That is b/c of the liability insurance, and how much power the fear of being sued has over medical decisions, especially in obstetrics.

Yeah you just described it best. It hurts most when I first get going but feesl better once I'm walking around. It feels like it could simply be from the weight of my uterus.

Yeah, I had this last week... I was afraid it was just going to stay that way until birth, but it has subsided quite a bit. The other day I stood up from lying down with DS and getting him to sleep, and my hips popped so loudly I was shocked!

I was really hoping to not be here this morning...lol... Yesterday was our due 'guess', and with DS I went into labor at 2 AM the morning after the due date. So I was hoping I'd wake up in labor last night, but no. I did sleep pretty well, though, so I guess I shouldn't complain. Plus I definitely haven't finished my to do list, so I can't really say I'm to the point of just waiting on baby.

Anybody planning on doing placenta prints? Anybody done it already? I'm looking at instructions online and trying to figure out which ones to print out. I want to do this, but I don't want to freeze the placenta and save it and do it later, I want to do it when it is fresh and then DH is going to bury it and plant a tree. So I want to have the instructions on hand because I'm not sure if the midwife assistant will be primarily doing it, or DH, or whether I'll feel up to it, but it seems like a good idea to have some guidance for whoever is doing it...

We had freezing rain all day here yesterday and it was a bit of a freak storm, because the weather has been increasingly spring-like lately. I went to pick my daughter up from daycare and on the walk in I slipped on a patch of slippery grass, stumbled a bit, and fell off the curb smacking my stomach HARD. Ow!
Im glad the baby is fine!!! I also slipped and hit my stomach on a curb with dd1 and she came out a couple days later! Lets hope this babe takes a hint!!!!

I JUST woke up but I want to stay caught up today!

Emma - thanks for sending me to the "Im pregnant" board for GD. The reason they did the test so last was because Im having to have a hospital instead of a homebirth and the docs said "either we test you, or test baby." I obvously chose me but now baby will have to be tested too!! Grrr.

Mel and the others "feeling something" Go baby go!!!Get on out here so your family can see your shining face!!!

Nancy - you and I seem to be at the same exact point in preg. Some days I think I might be getting close and then some days I think Im still months away!!!

fairymom - No clue but what a rough spot to be in right at the end!!!

lilgreen - unless you have no other option, I would leave him at home. Or maybe you could leave him at the front door of the office and run and grab a mask from the mw?

Incamom - Im keeping my fingers crossed for you today!!

Liseux - How close to your EDD were your other kids?

Michelle - except for yesterday. lo's movements have been CRAZY!!! Even dh and dd1 are surprised by the look of my stomach rolling and things poking out. I thought movement was supposed to decrease at the end, maybe Im not even close!!!

Fischk - Is today your last work day?!

SHine - Ugh! Why did you post today?! I was sure you were having your baby!!!

bodhitree - were in the no dtd cause we dont want baby to come out yet mode too!!

Azreial - Hope your kidsa re doing better, trips to the ER are no fun!!!

I did, too, but I managed to get the swelling down by drinking a crap load of water.

Amy - hope the cramps progress to something more definite!

I'd agree that it depends on the type of practice...are you going to be meeting a dozen people in the waiting room. If not, it's probably okay.

Yep...partially I think it's because she's gotten so big and strong.

Don't even worry about it...I'm so glad you and baby are okay.

I really had myself convinced he'd come early and here I am 3 days from my due date and no progress to speak of!
I hate to break it to you gals...I told myself that this one would be late. I knew she would be...and it doesn't help. You still feel impatient and antsy.

laurilj
- Good luck with the appt. Hope today's the day. I wouldn't mind today, either. Actually, as long as I go into labor by Wed. night, that would be great...hear that baby?

Like underneath the belly right in the middle? I have a terrible pain there...baby is large and resting on nerves. Out baby, out!

Really nothing going on here. NOTHING :

I'm with you on the pelvic pain. I've had this for a couple weeks now, and my mw says it is indeed because of the relaxin that's allowing all the bones to shift against each other and loosen up. I have it worst in the joint that's right in the middle of my pubic bone, which often results in me getting up from the couch, saying "Ow!" and grabbing my crotch.

nope, just sleeping later and not getting on the computer until after I take dh to work. I'm tired lately. Could be because I only sleep in increments of 1 hour . Actually last night was a victory b/c I slept from 3:30-6:30 without getting up to pee!!!

Then it takes me an hour to catch up on the thread! Seriously. I was formulating my post and once I submitted I realized there was a whole new page! We are busy these days (or not so busy)

Tomorrow's your last day of work, Michelle :::

EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE Yes it is!!!! Thanks for remembering. I am so giddy just thinking about it!!!! Of course I'm having a restless day and its making me realize how important it is to stop working tomorrow. My mind is obviously elsewhere (not that you ladies could tell that or anything seeing as how I'm so "slow" responding to these posts ) and I'm ready to just sleep in and stay in jammies all day, etc. and wait with DH for this baby!!!!

Kate - how did your DH get to work before you stopped working? Just curious - sorry I'm a little nosey .

no active labor for me yet. i have a mw appt at 3 so i may have her sweep my membranes to see if it'll help things keep going. i'm not sure. any cons to having that done?
Okay time for some jumping jacks, then painting.
There's no room at the inn, and Peanut needs to evacuate.
My belly is sore and numb, I got stretch marks all around my poor belly button all of a sudden and I am pushing a 50-pound weight gain. (A lot of which landed on my @ss.)

I'm going on strike as of right now. This sucks and I'm finished!!!!!!

I'm not too thrilled with the 45 or so lbs that I've gained either this pg, which also most of it went to my butt.

It's a BEAUTIFUL day here, the weather is supposed to turn nasty tomorrow for the rest of the week, and yet we are stuck inside because we've got appointments all day. :

Bodhitree, I'm in the same exact boat, I have to have a C section and I do not want anything to happen before that day, esp. water breaking. My dh also works nights so if h20 breaks at night I'd have to get my mom here ASAP & get to the hospital. And one of the doctors in my practice is a total B word & she could be on call, :

Linday, I have had natural labors start at 36 weeks, 37, and 41 weeks. I also had one section at 38 weeks. I lost my second baby to a birth injury that has a high likelihood of re-ocurring, so I have to have C sections. I'm Ok with it.

Bodhitree again, I know its not ideal to have surgical birth, but it doesn't have to be bad. My sections were very peaceful, positive & reverent so far. I have the same dr this time so hopefully it will be the same. It is weird not participating, but I put a lot of energy into healing well and the same power we have to give birth and be strong and healthy, can be put it into healing well & staying close to baby. Good luck to you!

nancy, I feel for you! Its rough at this point, I hope its soon!
