Milk- Whole or Low Fat?

So, I came across the much discussed whole fat milk study recently. I do have ovulation issues ie I don't usually ovulate and I do drink skim milk (I have for my whole life actually) and eat skim cottage cheese and yogurt.

My question: Has anyone here actually switched from skim or lowfat to full fat with the hopes of inducing or strengthening ovulation? Did it work?

Before I have to majorly change my life to accomodate the extra calories (I'm already more than plump) I just want to know if it actually works. It seems to me it could be one of those situations where there appears to be a correlation but there isn't causality (ie women's hemlines and rabbit population growth or the increase in school shootings since Elmo was introduced on Sesame Street.)

Any and all comments and experiences would be great!
Thanks,
Jenne

Is it that nurse study you are looking at? I think it depends on other factors. For me, milk is a bad idea (increases mucous). I love it, but for this FET cycle I am cutting it out completely in case that helps. We do need healthy fats for fertility, some suggest hemp oil, pumpkin seeds and oil, flax of course. I also eat a variety of nuts everyday and fish pretty often. I know what you mean about the weight though, it is hard to increase healthy fats and decrease my BMI at the same time (being overweight is also not good for fertility). Hope you figure out something that works for you!

Best of luck with the FET cycle!

Yep, that's the same study I've seen referrenced before and you're right, it is correlational only, which doesn't mean that high fat dairy causes increased fertility. Our IF issues are MF, so for me, decreasing my BMI is a priority. If our issues were due to lack of ovulation, I would probably try the high fat dairy : YUM! and cut calories elsewhere (processed carbs would be a good one for me to work on). Also a moderate amount of exercise is helpful for fertility, which I am also improving at the moment.

Good luck to you!!!
