Wow- people are so inconsiderate!!

MIL had DH's family over for Easter this past Sunday. The oldest brother and his family live about 3 hours away, so they'd been in town over night. We're sitting at the dinner table and I hear BIL ask SIL about their son and eating. "He's eaten two rolls since he threw up last night." WHAT?!?!?!?!? Might have been worth mentioning before we came over so I could decide if I wanted to chance exposing my 23 mo DD and 19 mo DS.

This morning DD woke up in a pool of her own vomit and has thrown up 5 times already. Yep, at 38w3d pregnant I'm dealing with the stomach flu. Thanks. I can hardly wait until DH, DS and I get it. : Guess I'll stop hoping for labor to start and just hope for the puking to stop and not get worse.

Ugh. So sorry We've been dealing with this tummy bug for a week. Its rough. Especially so late in pregnancy. Neither my husband nor I have any symptoms, and I figure I have been covered with enough vomit this week to have been exposed!! I hope that you can avoid it too. I'm pretty sure I know who gave it to us, and its hard not to be annoyed.

I had a baby shower a couple weeks ago and it was supposed to be a ladies night out and one of the mamas showed up with her sick feverish baby and sat next to me. Needless to say I have been trying to get over that cold and am just at the tail end of it.

I feel like staying in my home till I give birth so we don't get any more illness!

I do not know what is WRONG with people... Not so hard to understand - if your kids has had a fever, a rash, or vomited in the last 24 hours - DO NOT BRING THEM OVER! I'm fine with a cough or a runny nose, but geez some common sense about real, true, down and out sickness being kept home, please!

Dp's cousin just did that to me, but without the vomiting - thankfully. She brought her six year old to my MIL's house (from six plus hours away) so we go so my kids can play with their cousin. As they are on the floor playing together, dp's cousin is feeling her dd's forehead, and saying she has a cold again. I'm sorry - fever is not a cold! I was really peeved. Five days later my youngest has a fever and is out of school (and me home from work) for four and a half days. I was TICKED!

I just don't get it!!!! :::So sorry you have to deal with this. People are soooo selfish at times it's ridiculious!!!

I'm always extra cautious about this, even with a runny nose/cough I give the mom a heads up and let them make the decision to be with us or not. It's just being respectful!

Hope everyone else stays healthy and this passes soon!!!!

That really sucks! I hope you don't get it. I hope your LO get better soon. That is horrible to get anyway, but even worse when it could have easily been avoided if your in-laws would be even thought for a second about what they could be exposing you guys to.

Did the know he was ill before they left to go for the visit? If the didn't, while it certainly would've been nice to get a head's up, they were probably 'stuck' there, so to speak.

Interesting and little-known fact...

Stomach bugs are contagious for at LEAST three days after you stop throwing up. Some type of gastro bugs are contagious for up to TWO WEEKS after your symptoms go away! Crazy!!

I'm sorry your DD is sick. I hope you can avoid it. We went through a stomach bug nightmare a couple of months ago. Its not fun.

Hey, OT question...are one or both of your children adopted? (just trying to sort out in my head the close birthdates!)
I had the same thought. Based on the sig, it looks like the youngest was adopted (born in 07, home in 09)

Hope the stomach bug doesn't stay around too long.

People are freaking insane. They could have at least kept the child more away from the others and let you know that you needed to be extra-vigilant about handwashing. Or not gone. How rude.
