I'm frugal ladies!
gifted a Snugli frontpack and sling at baby shower
paid $10 for a $150 hiking backpack at Goodwill
bought a used ring sling for $5, took it apart, made a pattern and made a new one with $5 worth of fabric and $3 rings
borrowed a mei tai
getting ready to make a wrap...
So far spent $13 for 10 months of baby wearing!

hmm, let me think

The Ultimate Baby Wrap around $50 (but I used gift cards from the baby shower)
DIY gauze wrap $5
Silk RS made by another mama $40
DIY pouch $3
Beco $140
DIY MT $10
DIY RS $10
Ellaroo woven wrap $23 (SCORE! from the local kid's consignment shop)

So what's that $281?

I also have an African kanga, but that was a gift.

Hmmm, actually I think I voted low.
Used Indio Didy $100
Used Kozy $50
Used Moby $30
New Maya (it was a gift does that count?) $50
Sleeping Baby Productions remade Maya Wrap $30
Homemade stuff $20 for fabric
Uh oh, I think I may have a problem...

I had a hip hammock $30 and a mei tai $35 - so I voted $50-1$100.

Well I voted 50-100 but I just bought a wrap online tonight and I'm going to buy a mei tai when I am in Calgary next weekend so it will be a much higher total then.

I have a hand me down baby bjorn for free, but she outgrew it.

I bought a wisewomansling and a hostling on here from other MDC mamas, I think for 20 and 12?

WWS scared her, so I am reselling that. But we use the hotsling everyday. She's definitely grown into it and tolerates the front, side and back carry.

Same here! I tried several other pouches and slings, and they all scared her (she hates to be restricted).

Now I have a hotsling that is one size too big, and it's just right for her. She actually prefers it lol

Me too.

I have in order of purchase

1. moby for hubby (so it doesnt really count right)
2. hotsling (going to sell it because it was never really used)
3. baby buddah (worth 10 times its weight in gold)
4. ergo (used almost everyday)
5. UpMama ring sling (it was so pretty)
6. chimparoo wrap (pretty and liked the idea but sellling as I am not a wrapper)
7. I have a toddler hawk on order (does this make me pathological?)

I voted $500 or more :. I don't even want to think about how much more .

All I really use now is the Ergo, so I really should sell some of the beautiful ones that I never use.

I've definitely spent more than $500 over the years but I look at it as a hobby. My Dh has spent thousands on his motorcycle "hobby" so I figure this is a hobby that at least benefits the baby and our family more than his I figure i have at least 8-10 carriers at any one time during the baby years of daily wearing.

I do turn around and sell things that I don't like or use but I'm always trying new things too. I tend to use pouches and mei tais the most and will match them to an outfit if I can. I also like having fleece or heavier carriers in the winter vs solarveil or sateen in the summer.

My son was worn every day for a large portion of the day for his first year and worn after than until he was almost 3 and just wasn't interested anymore. The new babe will be worn just as much I'm sure. So since I don't spend a ton on fancy strollers/swings/etc I figure carriers are a good investment

I've personally spent $55. I was loaned a ring sling and gifted a Moby wrap. I bought a mei tai and love it. Not sure what I'll get next, the mei tai is doing the trick for now.

I put $500 or more, but I then sell them on the thebabywearer.com, so I haven't really spent that much. Now that my son is over 2, I only have two commercial ones left, a toddlerhawk and a Storch (leo). So that's around $150, but I will probably sell the toddlerhawk and keep the Storch for possible future children.
