Brainstorm: what to do with "burp cloth" diapers

I've recently acquired a bunch (~25+) thin "burp cloth" diapers. Maybe 2x4x2 of thin gauzy fabric. Cute prints and stuff. Someone at the local thrift store knows I'm planning to cloth diaper and keeps saving them for me. I'm pretty sure they are all cotton, and most are snappi-able. Help me brainstorm things I can do with them; what would you do? Here's my ideas so far:

• use them for burp cloths
• sew pairs of them together so they're thicker
• sew into fitteds (use print for cute, snappi-able outside, add more layers inside for absorbancy)

The lady who saves them is really sweet and always puts good baby stuff aside for me, so I don't have the heart to tell her not to save them. I do want to put them to good use, though, since I've paid, like, $1.50 for them. .

you could cut them and use them for cloth wipes. That's what I do with some of them. Super easy.

Use them as doublers or inserts.

I find they work fine doubled up--just lay one on top of the other and fold & snappi as usual.

Or they really do make the best burp cloths.

As I started reading, I was going to suggest sewing them together just at one end, so they wash and dry easier. They would work well as doublers, too.

I used mine as doublers and I'll bet they would be perfect for newborn.....I've also used as suggested above - doubled them up and snappi'd in a pinch and they did great - just make sure you wash any buildup first (previous owners may not have used them for diapers and used fabric softener or other...)

I would probably use two at once, without bothering to sew them together (they will dry quickly ) or use them as burp cloths or doublers.

At some point you can say that you're all set for diapers now, thanks to her of course, but now you're looking for XYZ. Just so you don't get any more but without offending her. It seems reasonable that you would only need so many diapers, right?

these would be good for a newborn, doubled up OR

you can buy/make some doublers to add in or get some hemp and sew in some soaker embellishments down the middle to make each one extra absorbent and not double them up make for more between wash days.

What she is saving for you can be a great set up with a little tweeking and little to no cost involved in comparison to other diapers and or disposables. Not to mention that an item is being reclaimed and not taking any additional resources off the earth to manufacture. She deserves a kiss in my book!

I'm using something similar for myself! Folded in thirds lengthwise and put into a shelf type bra while I sleep, it's the most effective way I've found to cut back on breast milk puddles .

Totally! I didn't mean to sound ungrateful to her! She also lets me take the "throwaway" T-shirts etc. for free to sew diapers and wipes. I've planned a diaper sewing day this weekend with a friend who is due about the same time as me, so hopefully between us we can make good use of everything!

I'll definitely wash them up and save some "just plain" for doublers, abosorbing milk puddles, burp cloths. And I think I'll use some to make snappi-able patches on the T-shirt fabric diapers. Maybe save some until I've actually tried them and know what I like (fitted, prefolds, etc.).
