Well I have exausted all but 1 possiblity concerning a vba2c. I am not comfortable with a uc (maybe that'll change) I am "allowed" by state law to have nurse midwife care under direct supervision of a dr. but I am not allowed to have a vba2c. No homebirth midwife is allowed to come anymore near me. So there is one dr. in Baton Rouge that I am hearing rumors MIGHT allow vba2c but because I would be a new patient I cannot be sure to be assigned to him or one 20 in his practice. So looks like here comes my 3rd c-section.

The only option I would have is travelling to Mississippi for a home birth (which is not crazy since its an hour and a half away) but there is no way I could uproot my family and move to Mississippi for the sake of vba2c. As much as I am not happy about c-section #3 I can have wonderful midwife care throughout the pregnancy and I can still have a natural pregnancy and I can still take a natural approach to my child's first moments outside of my womb. I'm frustrated right now with the state and the medical profession but I am trying to look at what they can't take from me as opposed to what they can. I want this pregnancy to be happy and optomistic.

Mama, if it's only an hour and a half away, have you thought about finding a midwife as close to the state line as possible? Even if there's not one right there, I've heard of women who have midwives drive just as far to meet them in a hotel at the state line. And either drive for prenatal care regularly w/the midwife, do prenatal care with a local midwife and keep in contact with status updates, with maybe occasional trip to midwife across state line. I don't know how feasible any of this would be for you...if you have a "warning" of early labour usually to tell you active labour is imminent and about X hours away, it could certainly be doable. It's all your choice, just throwing out ideas and what I've heard some have done.

Mama, you still have lots of time to think this through. You don't have to resign to anything. There are always ways and means of meeting needs and a safe place and support for your birth the way you want it is a need. You may have to be more creative than most to obtain it, but it can be done.
Fwiw to you for me to share, it was being in that position that solidified my resolve to freebirth my 3rd baby after 2 c/s. That and I knew that I would die in surgery because I almost did in c/s #2. A later diagnosis of severe hypoadrenia confirmed my instincts about that situation, and I am so grateful that I worked through the emotional stuff to end up being ready for a freebirth rather than the vba2c that was being considered by only one OB and only if I went into labour before 40+5 and only if my 3rd baby was smaller than my 2nd. Yeah right. Nice set-up for a repeat c/s!
I freebirthed ds3 at 44+2 and he was 10lb 3oz and superbly healthy. I had four weeks of prodromal labour and twice broken waters, the first time for a day two weeks before the birth and the second time for 5 days prior to the birth. My labour was 9 hours and excepting first stage, was painless- and awesome!!!
Ds4 was also freebirthed.
Imo, freebirthing or birthing with dp and/or a trusted friend/midwife is the default and anything else is an option to consider if truly needed, but not otherwise.
Relax and take the time you need to think about everything that matters to you and your family. If you're open, the answers will come to you.

This may sound far fetched, but I have heard of people doing it for various reasons: can you relocate for the birth to another state that allows vba2cs?
: Yay! I hope everything turns out wonderful!
