Rosie Birth Centre in Cambridge?

I was wondering if anyone has given/will be giving birth at the Rosie Birth Centre in Cambrige and would like to share their experiences. We are considering this as an option, since my husband really doesn't want a home birth. Thanks!

Hiya, I have. It is all right. I had a C section and was pleased how things turned out. Athough I didn;t get a lot of help with b/f as I happened to give birth at the weekend

Hi,

so have I. Was going to give birth at the Midwifery Led Unit but ended up with emergency c-section instead. People treated me well, can't complain at all. As for breastfeeding, DS latched on with no problems so I didn't need much assistance. I suppose it all depends on the midwife that will be with you, after all it's all about people.

I wanted to, but due to my stupid heart complication I 'wasnt allowed' I could have though, I had my son on the 'delivery unit' of the Rosie all unmedicated and wonderful. I really cannot speak highly enough of my experience there! There were absolutely wonderful. I had one midwife, she closed the door to my room and said 'Sophie, you CAN do this without an epidural (I was begging for one ) lets have this baby'

and I did, I am SO pleased that she was so encouraging. Nothing was too much trouble! I got hot chocolate and toast and was discharged 6 hours after his birth after a relaxing bath.

My friend had her baby on the 'birthing centre floor' and she had a wonderful experience too. She had her baby in water. If you have any specific questions I can ask her.
