He is beautiful. 9lbs 12.5oz, 21" long, born at 11:33pm on Thursday, April 9th.
I ended up with preeclampsia in the very end and went to the hospital instead of having the home birth I had planned. Never made it past 5cm and had to have a c-section. I may write a birth story later, but for now, all I want to think about is this gorgeous little creature that has come into my life. It doesn't matter how he got here, the important part is that he's healthy, happy, and has made our lives so much richer with his arrival. We are so in love.

Update:
I've uploaded some new photos to Flickr: http://www.flickr.com/photos/chocosaur/
Ryan is doing so well. My milk came in yesterday and he is so happy about it. He had been getting a little frustrated at my lack of milk, especially since they gave him some formula in the hospital. Yesterday morning I woke up leaking milk, and after his first feeding he rolled his head back, had milk dripping down his chin, and looked absolutely wasted. He had a big grin on his face. I guess heaven is an engorged boob.
I've been doing pretty well, as long as I remember to eat and sleep. I've had a few sleep deprived days in the past week and have felt absolutely miserable physically and emotionally during those times. I have needed lots of reminding to take care of myself. I hope all of you are taking care of yourselves as well as your babies.
I'm still not ready to write a birth story, but am beginning to come to terms with what happened. I hadn't prepared myself at all for a hospital transfer, let alone a c-section, so it was all very unexpected and traumatic. It quite possibly could be both the best and worst thing that's ever happened in my life.
Ok, Ryan is hungry. Again!
