On top of this the risk is presumed if the mumps are caught after puberty.

I want DS to get mumps as a child. Everything I've read says it's much milder and provides lifelong immunity. Even Dr. Sears they Younger, who is actually somewhat mainstream, does not worry about mumps in children.

That makes a lot of sense, and I'd like to think it is 15% of reported cases (if the quote is even accurate) I just was surprised.
