i didn't get the book yet. I am trying hard not to buy new books lol but i really want this. Yeah, i don't think it's a 'movie' more like a documentary or something??? not sure. But i am going to try to see it. It's 20 minutes away and my hubby works nights so we will see how that works LOL.

I do like her and hadn't heard about the book... I'll have to get it.

So, I read it.

It was nice. Although, I liked the stories from her listeners the best. She's not the greatest writer in the world.

I just wish the validation came from another source.

I will be the first to agree that SAHPs are looked upon as second-class citizens. Someone may say, "You're doing the most important job in the world," but usually the tone is patronizing.

I agree...it wasn't so much Dr. Laura's words as it was the sweet stories told by other SAHMs

Out of respect for the user agreement and the OP, I'd just like to remind everyone to keep the conversation on topic about the book itself and to avoid personal arguments and negativity with each other. If the thread veers off course again, we'll be forced to remove it.

And because this thread is about a book, I'll be moving it to the Books, Music & Other Media forum presently.

Thanks for understanding.
