Interlock?

Thread Starter
Can someone explain interlock wool to me? I bought a used "interlock" longie, thinking it was like my other wool longies, but it's not.

I'm curious to know more about it, how to care for it, should I lanolize it, etc.

Thanks!

An interlock is simply a knit - heavier than t-shirt material, but obviously not as heavy as a wool sweater would be.

Care for it the same way you do any other wool!

Some interlock is almost mixed with lycra. Like the ones I have for my son are 95 wool 5% lycra. You CAN put it in the washer but I've always been too chicken I love interlock and am trying to get like 5 shorts for DS's summer stash

treat it gently like your other wool and you should be fine.

The other thing about interlock is that its already slightly felted, so you can be a bit rougher with it than you would with knit longies, etc. We always use interlock for outdoor play here rather than our knitted stuff.
