Keep up with threads I'm posting in?

Hello- I am embarrassed to be such a beginner, but I have searched the FAQs and can't find the answer... I am transitioning from being just a reader to a "post-er" and I am having trouble keeping up with the threads I am posting in- to go back and continue the "conversation." Do I subscribe to that thread? Or is there a place I can go to see all the threads I have posted in? Thanks!

You can search under your username for "all posts by" or go into your profile and search that way.

We were all new once.

When I first came here it was from a forum that was different software so I did not know I could just post to the thread to make it go back to the top (bump) but I kept restarting threads. : So that was a pretty public "oops"

I changed my user settings so it automatically subscribes me to all threads that I post in. I find it easiest to do that way. Then when I come here, I first check my User CP to see "my" threads, then go to New Posts to see general threads.

ETA: Oops, sorry... I just realized that maybe I'm not supposed to post in here because I'm not a mod. Apologies!

I think you're welcome to post here. When I've asked questions other members have responded and some of their answers were much more helpful then the mods

You can respond.

I don't generally recommend subscribing to all one's threads. I noticed I had OUT OF CONTROL email issues when I subbed to threads I posted in. I still do not ever subscribe because it took me so long to unsubscribe to all of threads I had posted to.

I modded most of the forums at one point or another so my posts are all spread out all over the board and sometimes they get bumped and I would get an email about a thread that was four years old. It was driving me a bit nuts.

Not everyone has over 30,000 posts without posting to PTMY a lot or chit chat threads so other people might not have had the same problems. The old threads being closed helps.

The best way I've found to "keep up" is to subscribe but DON'T get notification by email, just each time you come to MDC, go right to your User CP and see what threads you've subscribed to have new posts.

Yup, that's exactly what I do. I never want e-mail notification -- I'd get flooded, LOL!
