As part of my nesting, I have been sewing for baby too. Some have talked of diapers we are making, but I'm curious what else is getting crafted up for our new little ones. Share!
I am not so good at taking pictures lately, but I did get a couple up on my blog here. Naturally, I have a whole lot more stuff I want to make that I haven't even started yet. And, I do realize that by starting this thread I might just be inspired to collect more projects to start. Oh well.

I'm about to dig my sewing machine out too. I haven't made clothes before, and am pretty excited about it. My mom made us clothes when we were little, and she is pretty excited to help me do the same

Your clothes are so cute by the way!

Gosh those clothes are so cute! I just finished my version of the baby mei tei as well and I will post a pic if I can. It doesn't look nearly as good as yours , but hey it's my second attempt and now I think I might try another one if I get the time! But I just told my baby she could come now that i am all done with the laundry and cleaning the whole house top to bottom, paid the bills early so I don't have to worry about them being late and me forgetting and so I am ready as I will ever be!

Well the only crafting I have done for baby is sewing up some cloth wipes. I have however been on a crafting spree for Easter which probably has something to do with not doing anything around the house.

Those other things include a mama and baby chick for dd2 a big ol stuffed chick for ds1 two little stuffed bunnies for both and a whole slew of jelly bean bean bags with a bag. All for Easter tomorrow. I had intended on spring pants too but just didn't get them done in time. I'll post some pictures tomorrow!!

those are so cute!! I really want to sew but its just such a pain with a toddler underfoot. Ugh. I've caught her at least 3 times pulling the pins out of the pin cushion, and she loves playing with my fabric stash. Trying to trace patterns and cut fabric with her around would send me over the edge, I'm sure. I'll have to send dh with her to the children's museum or something one day and go to town. Hmm. But ya know whats really holding me back?My sewing supplies are a MESS. I've moved a couple times since I last got everything organized and now I'm just sick thinking of my sewing box. thread unraveling all over the place. Hm. Yeah. I might just go to joanns *right now* and get a bobbin organizer before I lose my head.

But I did knit some longies! I barely finished it a couple weeks ago and I started it right after I found out I was preg. I'm a slow knitter... they turned out cute though. I still need to take pics. I bought undyed yarn and dyed it with kool aid when I was done. Its preemie sized (since that was what I could find a really easy pattern for!) so..lets just hope he comes out smaller and grows more slowly than his sister. Heh.

Most of my crafting so far is stuff for DS1 that I never finished. So who knows what this baby will get!

I started knitting a blanket for this baby in the first trimester which I definitely haven't finished... in fact I don't even know where the pieces I worked on are! It was packed for the move and I don't know what I did with it when we got here. I always seem to do that with projects

I've started painting a dresser for Olivia too, which I plan on finishing this week. I'm doing little stencils all over it, so it's a little crafty! I love being crafty, I just seem to have a problem finishing most things I start!

I've never been a crafty person, but this time around, I'm getting crafty instead of nesting. It's too bad, since my house could really use some serious nesting! So far I've crocheted a blanket and 1 wool soaker for the baby and sewed some wipes. I also made myself a bracelet. I love the idea of having all your baby shower guests bring a bead to make a bracelet for the mom to wear. I'm not having a shower (3rd baby) and most people I know would probably think it was weird anyway! So I made one for myself. I've never made any jewelry before but I was on a mission. I dragged my poor 4yo to the bead shop and luckily found a really nice lady there to help me.

I'm also planning to sew some diapers and a sling. I only have 5 weeks left - I'm probably not going to get all of this done! I'm also trying to knit a blanket for my sil who's due 2 weeks after me (my first knitting attempt). I was hoping to knit a hat for my baby, but I can't seem to get the hang of the circular needles. Oh and I wanted to knit some soakers, but that's definitely not going to happen! Holy cow, I'm nuts!

I really wanted to make a fleece pouch, but then I looked at the tutorial again and I have to measure from shoulder to hip.. DOH! I can't get a good measurement until after this kid is out. lol. oh well.

The only thing crafty I managed to do for this baby is knit a diaper soaker, a sleep sack and a hat and booties. I would like to make one more soaker in a small size but they doesnt need to be done until baby is here, in the meantime I need to pack and move next week and upack the week after, that would leave me at 37 weeks and who knows when this baby will get here and what I will have done.

You can try measuring across your back instead. I made one during my first pregnancy and it came out a little small but I was also, um, not generous enough in my seam allowances. I was not the most accurate seamstress at the time.

oh jeeeze this makes me feel like a slacker. normaly i am the lady who is ALWAYS making something. but for this babe who is due in 5 weeks. i have made NOTHING. well, i pinned together a floor blanket, but havent even gotten half way.
im way too consumed with finishing the remodleing on our house (nothing like barenaked drywall to get a mama nesting) to do anything.
that plus my art space was moved into a smaller room and is currently a thousand piles of boxes. yes that doesnt help.
guilty. :

What about boobs?

I'm a knitter, so I've made 3 soakers, a pair of longies (in superwash wool so they will have to be used over a different diaper cover), and am almost done with my third pair of baby socks. Oh, and a really... ugly? ... baby hat made out of sock wool. I still would like to finish a pair of "real" shorties, probably another soaker, another pair of pants, and some babylegs, but I'll probably only get the shorties and maybe another soaker done before the baby gets here. I'm a fairly fast knitter but there's so much else to get ready!

Over the weekend, I peiced, embroidered and quilted a quilt for the new baby! That's my one crafty project for the baby. I hope to get a round to putting my favorite necklace pendants on a bracelet to wear during labor and making a playlist of labor music, but I'm not holding my breath that I'll actually accomplish those things.

I have a couple of necklaces to finish for people. Hoping I get to them! I was hoping to have until 40 weeks but I have been having contractions throughout the day yesterday and who knows how long I have( I am 37weeks +5). DH has agreed to do cleaning around the house with me tomorrow, after we finish that I may get to them.

I also want to make simple curtains for the baby room, I still have to buy the fabric from IKEA, where I will go Tuesday after my OB appt. Seems as though I have left too much to do last minute!

I have been working on a few projects. I started knitting a baby blanket 5 years ago and am only 6 or 7 rows away from being done. I have also sewn a sling and a mei tai, cloth wipes and I'm done with a quilt top (just need to quilt and bind it). I intended to sew more, but I'm pooped and there are other projects that I would like to finish or get closer to finishing before the baby makes his arrival.

I've done several projects, but I don't have pictures of everything.

I made reusable cloths for a swiffer sweeper out of an old blanket (only sort of baby related, but it does help keep the pet hair minimal for baby), a day bag/diaper bag, a couple of extra changing pad covers, thank you notes for the shower, a baby dress (still not finished, I need to stitch the sleeves on and hem it, but it's a size 6-9 mos. so I have time) and bloomers to match, and I'm working on crocheting a baby blanket, but it's going very slow.

Thank you notes.

The image on the thank you notes.

The diaper bag.

Unfinished baby dress.

Bloomers that go with above mentioned baby dress.

wow! You are all amazingly crafty mamas!
I agree that I have sooo much to do that hasn't even been started yet. And you are reminding me of things that I still need to start. I did manage to finally pick out fabric for my new pouch. It is a vintage pink floral fabric from my mom's tremendous collection. I'm thinking of sending her the link to Jan Andrea's pouch instruction and have her do it! LOL.
Do you think it would be okay to wear a totally pink pouch with a boy, if it is a boy? With three boys already, I am craving pink stuff like crazy, and I'm normally not a pink person.
I hear you ladies who are trying to find craft supplies. I have a huge box of notions in the garage. It sucks that I totally know where the box is. I can almost see it. But there is no way I can possibly get to it. The lawnmower, dh's woodworking stuff and a bunch of other boxes are in front of it. I can't move any of them. That's where my snaps are, my patterns, more trims, and some of my scraps of fabric I want. I just need to catch dh at a good time where he has time to get it. I'm thinking that those outfits I made will be snap-less when baby gets here. Maybe when he takes time off....

I made a crochet baby blanket early in the pregnancy, here.

and I am now trying to finish up my very first knitting project! A baby afghan, here.
